Rome, Nov. 7 (At Premier
Mussolini conferred today with
his new air chief, General Fran
cisco Pricolo, on plans for de
veloping Italy's air force.
AIRPLANE WHIRL
Cowboy Dude Chick roared
bock to the pinnacle of southern
Oregon wrestling last night be
fore an overflow crowd of ladies
nlghtcrs in the armory, putting
his potent lariat spin on Pete
Bclcastro at the 17-minute mark
to wind up a fast and furious
bout.
Belcastro managed to grab one
fall, in 12 minutes, with a drop.
kick to the kisser and a ahouldor
stand, but thnt was the extent of
the Italian's threat to the smooth
working cowboy. After Chick
spun Bclcastro 13 times and
slammed him to the mat, the lat
ter was all through for the eve
ning. Pete outsmarted Dude to gar
ner his fall. Following a wild
flurry of flailing fists, Chick
tossed Bclcastro into the ropes
and prepared to catch him on
the rebound and hoist him up for
the spin. But Pete didn't re
bound. Instead, he grabbed the
rope, and while Chick was off
balance Pete fired a dropkick
that flattened the ex-junior
heavyweight king. Like a flash
Belcastro pounced on him, grab
bed his legs and stood him on
his shoulders for the fall.
Before this Belcastro fall the
boys staged quite a shindig. Pete
started the foul stuff and Chick
came along, with tha result that
everybody In the ring took a
terrific beating, Including Ref
eree Earl Yoakley, who also suf
fered a bitten finger thanks to
Belcastro.
The windup came when Bel
castro attempted to work the
same trick he did In taking his
full. Chick tossed Pete Into the
ropes, Pete grabbed a strand,
then fired a dropkick. But this
time Chick was ready. He dodged
the flying legs and Belcastro
landed squarely on his head.
Stunned, he was easy prey for
the cowboy.
King Kong Clayton, aggressive
and classy Negro, beat Hans (Hit
ler) Schulz in the middle event
on a foul, when the latter gave
an extra bounce on a Boston
crab hold after being awarded
the fall in the fourth round. Pre
viously, Clayton obtained a press
in the second heat with punches
to Schulz' head, head flips, a
dropkick and a body press
In the fourth round Schulz
roughed Clayton Into a state of
coma and whipped on the crab
maneuver. The German had the
fall in his hands but couldn't re
sist an additional bounce, and
the colored boy was awarded the
match. Blood flowed in this en
counter, after Clayton hammered
the Nazi about the mouth.
Ernie Piluso of Portland, mak
ing his first southern Oregon ap
pearance, turned In a sensational
performance to defeat Duke Pet-
tigrove in- the opener In two
straight falls. In beating the vil
lainous Pcttigrove into submis
sion, Piluso looked like the most
colorful and best two-handed
puncher since Sockeye Jack Mc
Donald. The huge crowd went
crazy over the Italian-American,
and he will undoubtedly becomo
the finest drawing card of the
year.
Pcttigrove got rough In the
first round and Piluso quickly
took care of him. He beltod
Duke out of the ring, then un
leashed an attack that left the
latter limp and bleeding from
the mouth. Ernie took the fall
with a body press after butts,
dropkicks, etc.
In the third round Pettlgrove
again chose to slug it out with
the Portlander, and In five min
utes he was a sorry looking (rap
pier. Piluso handed out one of
the worst beatings ever seen
here, and at the match's con
clusion Pettlgrove was plumb
goofy. It took three men and a
police officer to finally subdue
him and get him to the dressing
room.
