Chapter One
No Nurse Wanted

the ranch. Still, perhaps not
wasted. The Cowboy Cartoons er

But since Eleanor, his wife, and
Bull, his twenty-year-old daugh
ter, were deep in their own
thoughts, he went on, a tinge of re

energies." He lighted a cigarette,
halt closing his eyes against the
ascending smoke. ''Simply wicked

two weeks' vacations, and fail in
