To Hospital Court Hall of 316

Medford orchardtst, left by train last
night for Portland where he was to
enter St. Vincent's hospital for diag
nosis and treatment. He was accom
panied by his son, Seely V. Hsll of
Oakland, Cal. The elder Mr. Hall
was confined for several months to
a hospital In San Francisco last win
ter and recently suffered a recurrence
of the ailment. It was expected that
Seely Hall would continue from Port
land to Boise, Idaho. He Is super
intendent of operations of the west
ern division of United Air Lines.

state police complaint charging that
he operated a truck without a P.U.C.

In Gold Hill Justice court on a charge
of driving a behicle without an op
erator's permit. Cited to appear In
Medford Justice court on September
31, all charged with driving vehicles
without operators' permits, were Wil

Bourbons Meet Jackson County
Young Democratic club convened last
evening In the Hotel Medfjrd to
formulate plans for winter meetings.
An Informal discussion was held re
garding functions which the organiz
ation can perform successfully in
Jackson county. A study program
will be carried out In future sessions
and from time to time speakers
representing various government
agencies will be presented so that
members may become more familiar
with the different phases of govern
ment and understand more clearly
the workings of the administration.
It was pointed out that by young
Democrats knowing the present pro
gram of government they would be
come better citizens and able to take
a part In national affairs... A guest
a the session last evening was W. H.
Hamann of Evans Creek, who told the
group his Idea for a definite pro
gram of current events.

Prune Pickers Needed
PORTLAND, Sept. 14 (AP) Prune
growers of Eugene, Salem, Independ
ence, McMlnnvllle. Dallas and Port
land appealed, through the state
employment service yesterday for
more than 1000 prune pickers to
narvest a near-record crop. Five
hundred hop pickers were also needed
In the Willamette valley.
