Eagle Point Grange
Eagle Point Grange met Decem
ber 0 with good attendance. Third
and fourth degrees were conferred on
five candidate.
Report of ways and means com
mittee, some economics committee
and their aub-commltteea on de
carnival held December 3 were vary
encouraging. The carnival waa a
wonderful auoocsa with lot of fun
for all and a considerable sum of
money for the Grange treasury.
The Grange tender, appreciation
and thanks to all who helped.
Interesting report were also glvon
by educational committee. Mrs. Julia
Davlea; leglalatlve committee, w. S.
Davlea; library. Mrs. Lulu Taylor;
good of the order and reception com
mittees. During lecture program reports
from members who attended the
National Grange convention held at
Portland were enjoyed. These were
by Mr. and Mr. W. 8. Darby. Mr.
Millie Tfngleaf, Mrs. Mabla Harnlsh
and Mrs. Gertrude Stanley.

ot Mra. Helen Davis of Applegate
were an added feature of the dance
given Saturday night at Applegate
community hall by the Applegate
school. Much praise waa given the
fine work of the youngsters under the
direction of Mra. Davis, who la giving
her services gratis. Pupil appearing

Wesley Davis. Wallace and Jean Cren

provement club, and a grab bag was

In the Upper Applegate area since Lee
Port. Jr., and Morris Byrne have tak
en to the axe and aaw and have
formed a company known aa the Bro
ken Limb Wood Company, Inc. Dur
ing the early workings of the corpor
ation, the two woodsman stepped off
their wood lengths, but seeing that
their customers wefe getting too
much wood for their money, they
now use a measuring etlck. The boys
are doing a heavy bualnesa. reporting
more orders than they can fill In a
year, and that they already have re
ceived correspondence under the new
firm name. They are operating on
the proporty ot L. 5. oftenbacher.
The Applegate extension unit will
hold regular meeting Wedneaday, De
cember 31. beginning at 1:30 pjn.
The early afternoon will be devoted
to parent education atudy club work,
when leaden, Mra. Helen Davis and
Mrs. Audrey Crenshaw will discuss
family relationships. Following the
project work, those attending will re
ceive glfta from Santa Claua at the
Chrlstmsa tree. Everyone Interested
Is Invited to attend, and all are aaked
