News of 4-H
H CLUBS
By Winona Vomer
Mr. Conrad came to the Indepen
dence school recently and organized
4-H clubs for the boya and girls. The
girls chose home cooking and the
boys camp cooking. Mrs. Catherine
Patterson Is leader for the girls and
Bernard McGrath for the boys.
At their first meeting the girls
elected Jeanne Patterson, president;
Dolores Hagen, vice-president; WUma
Sauer. secretary, and Winona Varner,
rep .rter.
The boys elected the following of
ficers at their first meeting: Presi
dent, Glenn Hall; secretary, Bernard
Sauer; reporter,' Winona Varner.
A three-day outing on Roxy Ann
was much enjoyed.
At the girls second meeting It was
decided to write words for a song to
suit their division of club work. The
words to the tune of "The Club
Trail." are:
There's a long, long time for eating
If your cooking is good.
We'll do lots of demonstrations,
to ahow how we prepare our food
We'll do It without much coaching,
to give our loader less to do. t
And we're going to show the public
what the 4-H girls can do.
