GABLE'S SECOND WIFE
READY TO CLEAR PATH
HOLLYWOOD, Dec. 14. ) Clark
Gable's marriage to a woman 11 years
his senior today appeared likely to
reach a divorce court where he would
be freed to wed Carole Lombard, his
"best girl."
The husky film Idol, himself, an
nounced his estranged wife. Maria
(Ria) Lang ham Gable, from whom
he separated in November, 1033, was
at last ready to seek a divorce after
a ruling on the legality of their prop
erty settlement by which she received
5086.000.
Gable's and Miss Lombard's nuptial
plans, if any, were not disclosed.
It would be the uiird marriage for
the bojtoffice king of the movies, tnc
second for the blonde comedienne.
For two years they have been "keep
ing company" dt parties, trap shoots,
horse shows and kindred amuse
ments. Gable has bought a San Fer
nando ranch where he may build
a house In the SDrlruz.
"It's temperament," explained Mrs,
Ria Gable, dark-hair-! stately mother
of two grown children, when the rtft
between her and the actor became
known.
A divorcee, -she had met Gable la
New York when he was an obscure
stage aspirant, helped to boost his
career, and married him at Sant
Ana, Calif., In 1931, after he scored
a screen hit. They gave their ages
then as 41 and 30, respectively.
MUSCULAR
RHEUMATIC
PAINS-ACHES
It takes more than "Just a salve" to
bring speedy relief. It takes a "counttf
irritant' like good old soothing, warm
ing Musterole to penetrate the surface
skin and help toquicklyrelievethepainul
local congestion and aches due to colds.
Muscular lumbago, soreness and stiff
ness generally yield promptly.
Better than the old-fashioned mustard
plaster. Musterole has been used by
millions for 30 years. Recommended by
many doctors and nurses. In three
strengths: Regular, Children's (mild)
and Extra Strong, 40. Ail druggists.
