Christmas teal Into rural schools, of
Jackson county end received today
many word of praise from Mrs. F.
Corning Kenly. chairman of the rural
school program In the annual drive
against tuberculosis. The student
were Donald ' Younger, senior; ' Roy
Cameron, senior, and Joy Igo, Junior.
The three are enrolled In Bertrand C.
Adams' publlo speaking class.
' "Bach did extremely well". Mrs.
Kenly stated,' "showing unusual abil
ity In adapting the speeches to the
ages of the various children before
whom they appeared.'
Younger, accompanied by Mrs.

Crater Lake highway between Med
ford and Prospect. Cameron, with

CCC TRUCKMEN SET

What la considered a remarkable
safety record for truck driving was
turned In today by the Applegate
and South Fork CCC camps, the two
camps under Jurisdiction of the
Rogue River national forest.
Camp South Fork had a perfect
safety record for 1038 up to No
vember 18. the day the statistics
were complied. Camp Applegate re
ported a perfect safety record for
the year from October to November,
forest headquarters announced.
The trucks at South Fork ' were
operated for a total of 127.370 miles
without accident. Fourteen trucks
were In use. There were 42 drivers,
some being full-time, others part
time drivers.
Camp Applegat operated 17 trucks
for ft total of 123,068 mtles with
out accident, the record showed.
Forty-four drivers handled the trucks.
Truck drivers In the two forest
camps receive Instruction In driving,
safety factors always being stressed,
said Karl L. Janouch, forest supervisor.
