Appointment of leaders for Oak
Grove 4-H clubs was made by C. D.
Conrad, county 4-H leader, at a meet
lng In Oak Grove school November
13 by the children and those of the
district Interested.
An Interesting talk was given by
Mr. Conrad on the alms and accomp
lishments of 4-H members and clubs.
This was followed by distribution of
pins and certificates to members who
had completed their 1038 projects.
Following Is a list of appointed
leaders and their projects:
Mrs. Flora Saltmarsh is organizer
and has sewing clubs 3, 4. 0; sewing
club 1 and 3, Mrs. Iva Thomas; cook
ing club 1, Miss Marjory Reich;' cook
ing 9, Mrs. Winifred Reich; camp
cookery. Miss Margaret Walter; wood
working, Mr. Walter, livestock, Mrs.
Sater.
Camp cookery, organised under
leadership of Margaret Walter, met
November 31 when 11 members regis
tered. Sewing 1 organised on December 3
under guidance of Xve Thomas with
five members present.
Sewing 3 and 4 held their first
meeting December 3 with five mem
bars registered under Mrs. Flora Salt
marsh. Cooking club 1 met with Marjory
Reich leading on December 3.
M. A. Walter met with 15 enthus
iastic members of the wood working
division on November 14.
Room Improvement division met at
the home of Gertrude Logan, Novem
ber 30, with four girls present. It Is
hoped this division will grow.

At the regular meeting of Live Oak
grange December 8, It was decided to
have a social Saturday evening, De
cember 10. Free program as usual.
Doors open at 7 o'clock. Fancy work

at the Southern Oregon state Normal
school. The project will give em
ployment to about 30 men for a
period of six months.
Following the plans drawn up by
C. E. Corry, landscape architect for
the city of Ashland, and approved
by the atate board of higher educa
tion, the grounds In back of the
buildings will be improved and the
area, bordering the atreet leading to
the rear entrance will be landacaped.
Parking space for cara will be pro
vided directly behind the adminis
tration building and the physical
education building, and the area be
tween made Into a turf play field.
Leveling and turfing the normal
school football field la Included In
the project.
Planting of shrubs around the
physical education building, which
waa postponed last spring because of
adverse weather conditions, la to be
undertaken aa soon as the weather
becomes favorable In the spring.
