Driver Fined Elizabeth Bailee of
217 South Riverside avenue was fined
85 by Judge Allen D. Curry In city
court this morning when she pleaded
guilty to driving a car without an
operators license. She was Involved
In a slight accident Saturday night.
On Holiday Visit George Hunt,
Medford theatre owner, left yesterday
afternoon by United Air Llnca for
Omaha. Nebraska, his home town,
which he has not visited In several
years. Mr. Hunt planned to have
Thanksgiving dinner with relatives
and friends there. He expected to be
gone about ten days.
Chains Needed Clear, cold weather
continued to prevail In Crater Lake
national park today, rangers reported
by radio. Park roads were open but
extremely ley and tire chains were
needed for safe travel, the rangers
raid. Depth of snow at park head
quarters remained at 22 Inches this
morning. Temperatures range yes
terday was 24 to 11 degrees. Skiing
Is still only fair because of the Icy
surface, the rangers stated.

If found, will be prosecuted as a,

He said three Interbay shack
town men said they owned the
animal, and It reaponded to each
as master, but they were unable
to say why It had been knifed.

land. . They stopped here on the way

Stolen Car Found A car owned
by A. B. Cunningham, Medford bus
inessman, was found Sunday morning
in a ditch' at the foot of Marlln hill
on the Pacific highway. The car
was stolen Saturday night near the
Redwoods hotel while Mr. Cunning
ham was attending a Shrine cere
monial In Grants Pass.

arrived here today to look over the
white pine prospects on the Rogue
River national forest. He left Im
mediately for the Union Creek area to
Inspect the white pine stand and to
view the milling of the lumber. It
was indicated he Is Interested In pro
curing some of the white pine.
On Trailer Trip Mr. and Mrs. E. W.
Bralnerd of Central Point were to
leave today or tomorrow on an auto
traller trip to Seagraves. Texas. They
aro to spend the winter In Sengraves
i as guests of their aon-ln-law - and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Brown,
and their family. Seagraves Is the
center of a new oil field development
in west Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Bralnerd
planned to return to their Central
Point home next March.

Mrs. Rose Boclch, 111 In Alameda
county hospital learned today when
she leaves her cot she will be placed
in Jail on a murder charge. She was
accused In formal complaint filed
yesterday of murdering her new
born child who died of exposure,
allegedly, after the mother had
abandoned It in a vacant lot. Po
lice inspector Thomas Dufry said
Mrs. Bozlch admitted concealing the
birth and abandoning the baby In
on attempt to avoid her husband's
displeasure.

New Vaccine Cuts Colds
OXFORD. O. (AP) A new cold
vaccine was reported by Associate
Medical Director C. I. Stafford to
have decreased colds nearly 80 per
cent among Miami, Ohio, university
students. Dr. Stafford said that 640
students receiving the vaccine suf
fered only 22.5, days of illness and
experienced 3.63 colds during the
season. In previous years each stu
dent suffered an average of 8.17
colds, responsible for 88.8 days of
Illness. Many of those treated went
through the entire school year with
out a cold.
