of the M. B. church sponsored sn
apron and quilt sale at the Commu
nity hall Wednesday evening. Ham
burgers and pie were sold In connec
tion with the sale. The members of
the 8unday school furnished the
program. The attendance was good.
Karl Vetter, who received injuries
while playing football, la able to be
back In school.

defeated Oold Hill last Friday, 37

Coos county elected A. M. Hlllstrom,
Lake county relief administrator, to
a similar position here yesterday.
Hlllstrom succeeds M. Emerson Hoi
comb, now Marion county administrator.
David Livingstone, the famous
African missionary and explorer, had
wanted to go to China and was great
ly disappointed when assigned to
Africa.
INJURED IN CRASH
OF
Mrs, Ruth Leonard, 36, of 633 West
Second street suffered serious, but
not' crltlcsl Injuries about 6:46 last
night when the machine in which
she was a passenger, driven by her
husband. Wlllard. collided with a
vehicle operated by Louise Hudson
of box 1167, Medford. one mile south
of Phoenix on the Pacific highway.
Mrs. Leonard Is confined In Com
munity hospital with a fractured
pelvis and abdominal Injuries the
extent of which have not yet been
determined, her attending physician
said today. However, the doctor
stated that Mrs. Leonard was prob
ably not critically hurt.
Bobby Leonard, 14-year-old son of
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard, sustained
head abrasions and a sprained neck.
He was not Injured, badly enough
to necessitate bis being confined In
the hospltaL
The accident occurred on a slip
pery highway and with falling snow
obscuring the vision of both drivers.
The vehicle driven by Louise Hud
son, a Ford station wagon, attempted
to make a left hand turn Into an
Intersecting road, according to a
city police report, as the Graham
sedan operated by Mr. Leonard start
ed to pass the Hudson machine. Both
vehicles were traveling In the same
direction, and both were consider
ably damaged.

plan thus to. display the scenic splen
dors and commercial and Industrial
opportunities of Jackson county at
the San Francisco world's fair.
The photographic program will pre
sent 10 major subjects: atockralslng,
agriculture, horticulture. Industry,
recreation, transportation, education,
scenery, wildlife and history.
The photographic display of the
Shasta-Cascade wonderland will be
presented to world's fair visitors at
the wonderland exhibit by the fol
lowing methods: natural color motion
pictures In 13-mlnute length, nat
ural color stereoptloon slides auto
matically projected, black and white
photographlo stills In (roup forma
tion and portfolios and mural and
sepia enlargements.
Use of the photographic material
will be made by hourly programs of
moving pictures In Wonderland hall
of the Shasta-Cascade building, Illus
trated lectures both In Wonderland
ball and at the evening campflre
circle In the outdoor court, display
albums, release to newspapers and
magazines for reproduction, enlargod
