I am looking forward to my "con
cert debut" In Medford with the San
Francisco Opera Ballet November 18.
and together with Janet Reed am
hoping to see a lot of my old friends
there.
To be perfectly frank, ballet work
Is comparatively new to me as I have
concentrated mostly on dance forms
of various types required In my work
as "theme girl" for the San Francisco
exposition. Thoso who have seen pic
tures of me taken atop Boulder dam
or doing an Indian ceremonial dance
may nave difficulty visualizing little
Zoe Del confined to the more formal
routine of the classic ballet.

Ballet has promised to let me appear
with the company In Medford and I
have a nice part In the Johann
Strauss number, "In Vienna."

FOR SEATTLE VISIT

a cross-country flight, Mrs. Franklin
D. Roosevelt, wife of the president,
arrived here early today by plane to
visit with her on-ln-law and daugh
ter. Mr. and Mrs. John Boettlger.
and her grandchildren, Eleanor and
Curtis.
En route to Spokane last night the
plane flew through the first snow
flurries of the season, which delayed
Its arrival In that city by 30 minutes.
Mrs. Hoobeveli, arter spending a
few days here, will go to California
to visit her son, Jsmes. She plans
to be at home In Hyde Park, N. Y.,
by election day.

Kid well divided his estimate Into
an aggregate payroll loss of $1,000,000,
employes' strike expense of $76,000,
loss of sales to the picketed stores
of $2,250,000.
This, he said, was a "totally Inex
cusable price" for settlement of an
Industrial dispute "the hard way.".

SAFE DRIVING SCHOOL

A new safe-driving school will be
started at Medford senior high school
at 1:45 p. m. next Wednesday. No
vember 0. It will be for adults and
high school students.
As many classes as necessary will
be organized and each eleas will meet
at 1:46 p. m once a week, the course
to run seven weeks as In the past, It
was explained by PranX Hull, chair
man of the educational committee of
the Medford Traffic Safety Council
which Is sponsoring the school In
cooperation with the high school.
The classes will be conducted ea part
oi me nign scnooi curriculum.
Teachers will he Ed Ktrtley and
Ruse Acheson of the high school fac
ulty, with C. Glenn Smith, principal
In charge.
A skeleton car will be used. to teach
the fundamentals of auto mechanics.
Major port of the course will be de
voted to methods of safe and correct
driving.
Adults, both men and women, who
wish to enroll were urged by Mr. Hull
to register immediately. Applicants
may register by telephoning the
Jackson County Chamber of Com
merce, 63, or the high school, 1304.

remitting all prison sentences of one
year or less r ordinary criminal
offenses was decreed today in oele
bratlon of the birth of a daughter
yesterday to Prince Paul, heir pre
sumptive to the Greek throne, and
his consort, Princess Frederlka. Four
hundred deported persons were given
permission to return.

agricultural resources of Oregon will
be widely advertised through a pic
torial souvenir edition of the Oregon
Orange Bulletin, which will be mail
