Relief Dignitary
To Visit Chapter
' Chester A. Arthur Relief Corps will
convene tomorrow at 12 o'clock In
the armory for a covered dish lunch
eon. Diva Rounds of Portland, depart
ment president, will be present at
the session to Inspect the corps. All
members are expected to attend, and
are to bring a hot vegetable dish or
vegetable salad and their own service.

University Mothers
Sponsor Card Party
Mothers of University of Oregon
student In all parts of the state
will observe "all-Oregon Days" No
vember 8. 9 and 10, when proceeds
from a variety of eventa will be used
to swell scholarship and loan funds
sponsored by the Oregon Mothers'
organization, It la announced by
Mrs. C. H. Weston, Portland, state
president.
Members of the mothers' groups
will, on these days, sponsor bridge
parties, teas, dessert parties or other
social events. Each year the club
sponsors a scholarship valued at
$300, awarded to a deserving boy or
girl. A considerable sum la also
added to the revolving loan fund
made available at the university for
emergency aid to students.
The Medford chapter of the Uni
versity of Oregon Mothers' club will
observe "All-Oregon Days" with a
salad bowl luncheon to be held here
on Thuraday, November 10, at the
gtrla' community clubhouse.
An afternoon of card playing will
follow the luncheon. All proceeds
will go to the Oregon scholarship
fund.
It la anticipated that a number
of Medford women will aupport this
worth while project and attend the
social event planned.

the approaching marriage of Miss
Lula Lee and Mr. James Dougherty.
The ceremony la planned for Sat
urday morning at 8 o'clock. Novem
ber 6. In the chapel of Sacred Heart
church In Klamath Falls.
Miss Lee has visited frequently In
this city and la associated with
Adrtennes In Klamath.
Mr. Dougherty has many friends
here also, and Is well known. Several

relate her many activities since she
left this city a month ago to reside
In Los Angeles, Cal.
Mtss Leverette, daughter of Mr
and Mrs. Walter H. Leverette, was
a member of the Shakespearean Fes
tival group which played In Ash
land so successfully several months
ago. From all accounts, Miss Lever
ette has a great deal of talent and
since going to southern California
has acted In .several stock produc
tions. Miss Leverette has Joined the "Lit
tle Theater Group" and at the pres
ent time la appearing In two plays,
"Autumn Actress" and "Oreenwlch
Village." When not acting or study
ing plays, Miss Leverette models In
the co-ed department of Bullock's
Wllshlre Emporium In Los Angeles.

former Medford residents, were re
newing friendships here today prior
to their departure for Washington,
D. c, where they will reside for six
months.

park and la now superintendent of
Rocky Mountain national park with
headquarters In Eates Park, Colo., one
of the most important tourist cen
ters in the national park system He
.iaa been called to Washington for

new policy designed to knit the
Washington administrative offices
more closely with the park staffs.
On his present trip Mr. Canflela
has stopped at Crater lake and the
Lava Beds and Oregon Caves na
tional monuments to view projects
started under his regime as super
ntendent. He said that the pro
jected building of a new lodge at
Oregon Caves had been deferred.
Mr. Can field stated that while he
ltkes Rocky Mountain national park.
he still retains a warm spot In his
heart for Crater lake and southern
Oregon and particularly for tho
friends he made here. Southern Ore
Ron appeals to him, he said, espec
ilaly because of the wide variety of
scenery, ranging from desert to ocenn.

Mr. Canfield said that Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest A. Rostel, formerMedford res
idents, are well and wished to be
remembered to their friends here.
They now live In Estea Park where
Mr. Rostjl is publicist for the Rocky

Crater Lake national park under Mr
Can Ucld's administration.
Mr. and Mrs. Canfield plan to
leave here tomorrow for Washington,
going to Crater lake for one more
look and stopping elsewhere en route

Texas, after attending the dedication
of a memorial near Barrows. Alaska,
erected In honor of her husband and
Will Rogers who went to their death
together in a plane crash In Alaska.
