Homecoming Events
A special edition of the Oregon
Psllr Emerald. University of Oregon
campus publlcstlon, vu received In
- MedJord yesterday by all former stu-
stents of the university. The entire
paper featuree the 1638 Homecoming
week-end which will be an event of
Korember s, 5 and 8 In Eugene.
The main attraction for the week
end of oounte wilt be the Oregon-
Idaho football game, but Judging
from the reoent Emerald edition,
there will be an abundance of other
enjoyable activities.
A feature of the Homeoomlng night
life will be Harry Bnrrls and his
orchestra who are coming to Eugene
straight from sn extended engage
ment from the Cocoanut Grove. The
slanc. will be held In McArthur court
which has been newly decorated with
palm trees and a special "oasis'
for patrons and patronesses. Csmpus
clothes advisors state that semi
formal dress will be worn at the sf
fair.

Fetes Mrs. Jones
Mrs. Lottie Daniels entertained
Wednesday afternoon with a de
lightful luncheon party In honor of
Mrs. L. D. Jones.
Luncheon waa held In the Hotel
Holland, after which guests went to
Mrs. Daniels' home on South Grape
street. Hers a handkerchief shower
wsa given for Mrs. Jones and the
afternoon spent In visiting.
Guests enjoying the pleasant event
were the honoree, Mrs, Jones, Mrs.
X. A. Thlerolf, Mrs. Ella Westerlund,
Mrs. Oris Crawford, Mrs. W. H.
Bslley, Miss Sophs Helm berg and
Mrs. Frank Hull.
Mrs. Jones has resided In Medford
tat a number of years and will leave
xn the near future to make her home
an Redding, Cal. Her many friends
will regret her departure from this
city.
Presbyterian Group
to Have Conference .
Coming Week-end
The southern Oregon Presbyter.sn
lesgue conference will convene Sat
urday and Sunday, October as and

city.
The program on Saturday will be
gin with registration at 3:80 In the
afternoon, and will be followed by a
devotional and business meeting. At
6:30 o'clock a get-avqualnted banquet
will be served by the Missionary So
ciety after which Miss Helen Wltaker,
recently returned missionary from
Chins, will spesk. Later In the eve
ning a party will honor the guests.
Activities for Sunday Include Sun
day school and church, committee
meetlnga In the afternoon and a
consecration meeting which will ad
journ the two-day session. Special
numbers provided by the guests will
be offered during the various ses
sions.

Miss Mary Carrara was hostess for
a reoent dinner party given at
LaToeca-Inn In Phoenix. The affair
honored Fred Harris and torn Clem
ants, ensigns on the U. 8. s. West
Virginia In San Pedro, Csl. The two
are visiting the former's parents,
Mr. and Mra. A. V. Harris In Phoe
nix. They will leave tomorrow for
Billings. Montana, where they will
be guests of the letter's parenta until
their leave la completed.
Miss Carrara's guests at the pleas
ant affair included Mr. and Mra. A.
V. Harris. Al Carrara, Betty Frlck.
Jeanetta Merell, Dickie Hnrrls. Kath
leen Carrara, and the two honored

From Vacation
Mr. and Mrs. Harry LeClerc snd
dsughler. Miss Ruth I.eClere re
turned to their home here the first
of the week from a three weeks'
vacation.
The group traveled from Medford
to Kansas by train. In Topeka they
purchased a car and motored to this
city by the southern route, stopping
In New Mexico, southern California,
Reno and other places or Interest.
In Kansas they visited friends and
relative In Lyons and Hutchinson
and apent some time In their former
home of Burrton, where Mr. LeClerc
trensaeted business In connection
with his oil property.

Well Attended
Th Royal Nalghbora and their in-
vltM guests numbering about sixty,
enjoyed a covered dish dlnnsr at the

Mra. Irene Shirley, Mrs. Pearl Mil-
er and Mra. Freda Klnnley had
charge of the dinner.
Following dinner, Mra. Myrtle Ar
nold, program chairman, presented
the following program : Mrs. Elsie
Alexander and her orchestra; humor-
out reading by Mra. Pearl Milter,
two piano solos by Frances Klemn
and a musical reading by W. H, Ar
nold. Games in keeping with the
Hallowe'en spirit were played after
the program.

Mabel Mack waa the scene of an
enjoyable dinner party Tuesday eve
ning when members of the county
extension committee were gueata and
Maude Morse of Portland waa hon
ored gueat.

Straua of Bams Valley, Alice Ricks of
