Treasurer of the City of Rogue River,
Jackson County, Oregon, at his office
In the Council Chambers In the City
Hall of the said City of Rogue River,
Oregon, until the hour of four o'clock
P. M. on the 6th day of November,
A. D. 1938. (at which time said bids
will be opened publicly) for the pur
chase of water bonds for the Im
provement of said water system of
the City of Rogue River, Jackson
County. Oregon, In all amounting to
the sum of sixteen thousand dollars
($16,000.00). All of said waur bonds
are In the denomination of five
hundred dollars ($60000). Each of
said bonds bear Interest at the rate
of not more than four percent per
annum from date of said bond,
to-wlt: October 1, 1938. payable semi
annually. Said bonds run for a pe
riod of twenty years to and until
October 1. 1958. That tho City of
Roue River reserves the right to
redeem any or all of said bonds on
or after October 1, 1943. for the face
value and accrued Interest to date

yesterday, Henry Hartmari, 43, Aloha,
was drowned. His companion, Ed
Evans, Depoe' Bay, was reaeued
through herole efforts of Fred
Houchten.
Houchten, who haa figured In sev
eral rescues, attempted to reach the
struggling men In hla aklff, but
huge wave capsized It. Houohen
swam to Evans and waa washed onto
the rocks at the channel mouth.
Evans suffered a brokan Jaw and
concussion.
Hartman's body was washed out
