The full amount of deposit for one
set of documents will be returned to
each actual bidder within a reason
able time after receipt of bids. Other
deposit will be refunded with de
duction not exceeding the actual cost
of reproduction of the drawings, up
on the return of all documents In
good condition within thirty days
after the date of opening bids.
Each bid shall be accompanied by
a certified check, cashier's check or
bid bond (with authorised surety
company as surety) made payable to
the owner In amount not less thnn
5 of the amount of the bid.
The Jacksonville Highway Water
District reserves the right to reject
any or all bids, and to waive Infor
malities. No bidder may withdraw his bid
after the hour set for the opening
thereof, or before award of contract,
unless said award Is delayed for a
period exceeding 30 days.

day, October 13, at the liome of
Mrs. Twymon on the Old Paclflo
highway. Those present were Mes
dames Reatha Dow, Ella Leonard,
Jennie Yantlss, Doris Oerber, Eva
Thomas, Hazel McCullough, Mable
Johnson and the hostess, Elma Twy-
man. Refreshments were served. Tho
next meeting will be at the home
of Mr.. Yantlss on Thursday, Octo
ber 37, with a 1 o'clock luncheon.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvln Robertson left
here Saturday morning for Tuska
loosa, Ala., whore they will make
their home. Mr. Robertson has work
there, at the state hospital,

ning In the school gymnasium with
a large number present. After the
business ' meeting several musical
numbers were sung by the girls
chorus, two songs by Miss Plerson,
accompanied at the piano by Ken
neth Raymond. Mr. Bowman, county
superintendent of schools, gave an
interesting talk on "Taxation In the
Rural Districts." After the program,
reircanments were served by Mrs.
M. J. Swing and her committee. The
tables were beautifully decorated
with autumn leaves and colors.
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Miller from
Eugene were here on business over
the week-end and visited at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Al Puhl.

leaders, and O. D, Conrad, county
4-H club agent, at the Howard school
gym, October 11, to bring to a con
clusion tha year's work and discuss
plans for next year. Bernlce 8tam
men, 4-H club organizer for the dis
trict, gave a brief report of club
work at Howard during the past
year and told of the prize, won at
both the Home Economic, fair and
the Llveatock fair.
Virginia Ricks told of tha 4-H
club summer school and tha state
fair, both of which aha attended.
Chester Ricks spoke of the activities
and classes for boys at the two weeks
