A modern story of a "quadrangle
juppjsnts the act -old tale of the
triangle In a new, bright and breezy
oomedy. "3 Loves Has Nancy." open
ing a three day run today at the
Craterian theatre as the newest of
the 250,000 Movie Quiz contest pic
tures. Janet Gaynor. Robert Montgomery
and Franchot Tone offer a brilliant
array of talent in the principal roles.
Miss Gaynor in the best part she has
had since the memorable "Seventh
Heaven' and "A Star Is Born.' gives
a persuasive and sympathetic por
trayal of a small-town girl who is
given an insight into the sophisti
cations of New York by Montgomery
and Tone, her rivals In love. Mont
gomery hfls a made-to-order assign
ment as the flippant novelist and
Tone handles the part of the pub
lisher with palish and suavity.
The carefully chosen supporting
cast includes Guy Ktbbee as a bewil
dered and helpless father, Claire Dodd
as a designing actress and Reginald
Owen as a llght-fincered butler.
The story, laid against a back
ground of ultra-modern New York
life, tells of the troubles resulting
from a novelist's casual invitation to
a small-town girl to avail herself of
his help if she ever encountered trou
ble on a visit to the big city. She
does. The manner in which three
men become involved in an unusual
and frantic courtship of the girl pro
Tides reason for some of the loudest
laughter heard in a theatre this
year.

Rialto theatre. The picture is ex
pected to win for Miss Rainer the
motion picture Academy Award for
this year, she having won it for the
past two years thus making it three
years In a row.

Star to the Craterian theatre Wed
nesday for a four day run.

reckless 1850's. "The Toy Wife" pre
sents Miss Rainer In the role of
"Froufrou" Bri?ard; Douglas as
Oeoree Sartoris, attorney and polit
ical figure, whom she marries; and
Young a Andre Vnllttire. gambler,
swordsman, and also suitor for her
hand.
Heading the supporting cast is Bar
bara O'Neil as Louise Bripard, tiv;
elder sister: H. B. Warner as the
father, Victor Brigard; and Alma Kru-
ger as Mme. Vaiiaire, Andre'a mother.
Clarence Muse as Brutus. Andre's
servant, leads a large group of col
ored players in supporting roies.
Lulse Rainer appears as a frivolous
New Orleans belle who gives up a
fascinating gambler to marry re
spectable young attorney. When she
subseqxiently Vomes to believe that
her elder sister has usurped her place
in the affection of her husband and
child, she runs away with the other
man. But before its conclusion the
drama is brought to a stirring de
nouement.

HELD PAST WEEK
Mrs. Maud Morse, extension spec
ialist In parent education, conducted
two meetings for parents of Jackson
county last week. These meetings
were arranged by Mabel C. Mack,
county home demonstration agent,
with the cooperation of parent edu
cation study ciubs of ins county.
An afternoon meeting was held at
the Upper Rogue grange hall and an
evening meeting at the Jacksonville
grange hall. Both meetings were very
well attended by members and lead
ers of 15 study clubs.
Mrs- Morse discussed "The Com
mon Problems of Parents" based on
problems that have been reported by
homemafcers in the state who were
enrolled in study clubs work last
year. The five problems reported most
.freqxiently by the 500 parents In. the
order of frequency were; Ui quarrel
ing and ieaalng; i3) Household dit
ties and chores; $3 pick up clothes
and possessions: 4i the activities of
the children; fSl financial. These
problems were also found to be the
most prevalent ones faced by parents
of Jackson county. Common courte
sies were also discussed as a problem
