City representative.
We have been told that the Rogue
river valley peaches were the sensa
tion of the fruit trade In Ban Fran

enberg of Rosenberg Brothers, own
ers of Bear Creek Orchards. "When
Yakima peaches were selling nround

ties of these superior quality Rogue
valley peaches at this attractive
price."
In shipping the peaches to market.
Rosenberg Brothers used a deluxe
pack which aided In bringing the
high returns.
"With a peach of genuinely high
quality we could afford to use the
deluxe pack,' Mr. Rosenberg ex
plained. "The quality, however, must
be there first."
Mr, Rosenberg said that It was
encouraging to growers to know that
Rogue valley peaches. In direct com
petition with the large California
crop and with shipments fiom Yaki
ma, could command prices ranging
op to 50 per cent above prices of
the competing fruit.
Credit for tho high quality of the
local peaches should go to the grow

orchards and picked tho fruit with
care at the right .time, Mr. Rosen
berg stated. He Indicated that this
demonstrates ngnln thnt It Is profit
able to exercise care over the pro

The peaches commanding the high
prices came from the Eugene Thorn
dike and O. E. Plerco orchards, a
