Dora and Al Smith, well known In
southern Oregon whore they have
been trucking produce for the past
aeven years, announce the opening
tomorrow morning of Smith's qual
ity produce stand south of Jackson
Hot Springs at the intersection ol
the old and new Pacific highways,
A fountain and lunch counter, to
be operated by Mrs. nia McOraw,
daughter of Mrs. Smith, win be run
In conjunction with the produce
stand, It was announced.
The owners also announced that
they would haul produce from south
ern California this winter, having
a supply of citrus fruits the year
around.
Dress-Up Parade
Set In Pendleton
PENDLETON. Aug. IB. OP) Pen
die ton's annual dress-up parade has
been scheduled for Saturday. Sept. 8.
Thla marks the time when colorful
western regalia will be donned by
people of thla city, to be worn until
iter the Pendleton round-up and
Happy Canyon Sept. 15. 16 and 17.
Carson Mathews will be In charge of
the dress-up parade.
Opening of downtown ticket booths
for the round-up la set for Sept. 1.
To coincide with the beginning of
the three-day American Legion state
convention here.
