ers, for 35 safe hits, Including two
home runs, a triple and five double.
In addition to Rickert, Bob Smith
belted a round-trlpper In the fourth
with nobody on, Tommy White bloat
ed a 400-foot triple against the right
field boards In Uio ninth, Hozater
Hoffard hit two doubles and two
singles In four trips for a perfect
day, and Lewis, McLean and Ham pel
socked doubles.
Lewis got four hits, so did Mc

Ivan Waddell yesterday when the
local rifle club fired their second
annual Member's Match. Waddell.
against stiff competition, took two
firsts and placed high In remainder
of the matches, to win first In the
grand aggregate. This match Is heid
once every year on the Medford Rlfia
club smallbore range and Is limited
to club members only. First place In
each match was awarded a. silver
medal, second place and flrat In B
class received a bronze medal.
For total high score in the four
events, termed the grand aggregate.
Waddell received a beautiful gold
medal, aecond place won by Shelby
Tuttle, a silver medal, and third,
Mrs. C. C. Gall, a bronze medal.
Highlights of the morning were
Mrs. Waddell's 400x400 In the Dewar
match, and Shelby Tuttlo's and Ivan
Waddell's 10-x possibles at 50 yarda.
A "10-x possible." Is placing ten con
secutive shots In a half inch ring
on the 50-yard target.
Following the match, which fln
lahed at, 2:30, riflemen and their
families spent an enjoyable afternoon
on Rogue river.
Next firing on the smallbore range
will take place August 7 In prepara
tion for an lnter-club night shoot
at Yreka. Cal., under electric lights..
Outdoor lighted rarujes have proven
quite a drawing enrd In the soutu,
and the Yreka match will be the first
one of Its kind on the coast north
of Sacramento.
