the Craterlan theatre to present 300
Junior Musicians of America In mast
concert. Such a Bight should warm
the hearts of many a proud parent
who baa a child appearing on the
stage and In this concert. The Na
tional Institute of Music and Arts
whose faculty members lend a help
ing hand In the musical supervision
of the Junior Musicians of America

ture, "Treasure Island" probably
the greatest adventure ever filmed

With a cast of over 20 stars and
two thousand extras the famous

length and glory. Wallace "Beery and
Jackie Cooper, never-to-be-forgotten
co-stars of "The Champ." have the
starring roles In the Stevenson mas
terpiece. Beery plays Long John Silver, one
legged pirate with blood In bis eye
and friendship In his heart. Jackie
Cooper has the role of Jim Hawkins,
the boy adventurer and figure

Another of the film colony's "Ideally
married" couples was separated today.
Richard Arlen, who began his film
career as a studio motorcycle mes
senger, and Jobyna Ralston, former
leading lady for Harold Lloyd, ad
mitted they had separated.
They have been married 12 years
and have a son, Rlchey, 3 years
of age.

PORTLAND, July lfl. (AP) The
board of governors of the State Bar
said today that It would Investigate
the affairs of the Multnomah county
probate court In charge of Circuit
Judge Qeorge Tazwell.
The bar stressed that no charges
have been filed but that In view of
the "recent publicity" It felt obliged
to ascertain the facts. Actions of the
court In handling estates and the
assignment of appraisers and award
of fees have been under attack by
a newspaper (News-Telegram).

received a cheering cable from Wash
ington reporting decreased unem
ployment figures In June "for the
first time since the depression in
November."
Miss Perkins, sailing for home
aboard the liner Washington, de
clined to disclose the figures but said,
"I think the recovery shows we are
on the upgrade again."

restored order today in Pittsburgh's
northslde after a second wild night
of street rioting between races that
resulted in the wounding by gunfire
of a detective and a Negro and the
arrest of at least 40 persons.
The smoldering ill reeling broke
out Wednesday night In sporadic
street fights. Thursday night roving
bands of white and negro youths
roamed the district and in numerous
clashes eight were Injured and 17
arrested. The dispute was over use
of recreation facilities.
