spent the Fourth picnicking with
friends, here. .
Mr. and Mra. R. E. Lee of Ventura,
Cal., accompanied by relatives from
the south and two friends from
Grants Pass, are enjoying a camping
period at Squaw lake. This la the
tenth summer that Mr. and Mrs. Lee
have come to the lajte for their
vacation. . i
Mra. Quy Outton Is having aa a
guest this weex her sister. Miss
Louise Patnode, from Minnesota. Mr.
and Mrs. Dutton, accompanied by
their guest and Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Fanger of Medford, spent the holiday
week end In San Francisco.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Con kiln and

after spending two months In Salem.
Mrs. D. J. Marsh, who felt at her
home on Star gulch late last week,
breaking her arm, was confined to
the Community hospital at Medford

Mrs. Bessie Slple of Los Angeles Is
spending two months as a guest of
her sister, Mra. Alice Slple, at Steam
boat. Rush Ballard and daughter Virginia
have returned tb their home at Co
lusa after spending two weeks with
the letter's grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. J. A. Wost, and other relatives.
Mrs. Ballard and three children will
remain here for an extended visit.
Fred Offenbacher sustained a pain
ful eye injury late last week, which
required sevoral stitches In the eye
ball, while cultivating. Mr. Offen
bacher waa struck by ft twig from
a tree which broke, off after being
entangled In the harness on the
horse.
Mrs. Ansll Clllaon had as guests at
dinner July 4th Mrs. Hattle Logan
of Jacksonville, Roll and Holmes of
Medford, and Sam Randall of this
section. .
Mrs. Betty Hansen and two chil
dren ot Santa Barbara arrived Satur
day to spend two weoks as guests of
her sister-in-law, Mrs. Syd Hansen.
Mr. and Mrs. Bort HuklU of Shady
Covo were among picnickers -on Little
Applcgato the Fourth. They are for
mer residents- of this section, and
mentioned that thoy hoped to live

Mrs. Pearl Dunkle of Steamboat left
Wednesday for Salem, where she will

Four hundred head of ewes, with
lambs, belonging to Ben Dawson, were
returned to the Upper Applegate last
week, having been In pasture at the
Beeeon ranch near Talent.
The Fourth of July found moat of
the Applegate folks appreciating their
home community, many arranging
