NEW YORK. July 6. (AP) The
buying urge came to the surface of
the stock market again today after
a moderate setback from the Bteep
midyear advance had run lta course.
A late wave of orders, concentrated
mostly on coppers, oils and other
industrial groups, gave the market
a vigorous shove upward, overcom
ing the hesitancy that prevailed most
of the session.
Early losses running to more than
2 points in representative issues were
replaced by gains that ranged to 4
points In the strongest movers.
Trading slowed almost to a stand
still on the sell-off. making a no
ticeable contrast with the buying
stampede, then picked up when the
rally got going. Transactions ap
proximated 1.600,000 ' shares.
Some stocks swept ahead to new
highs for the bull movement on the
late buying wave, notably among the
mining, oil and miscellaneous Indus
trial groups.

A dramatic story of ex -convicts.
out on parole and forbidden to
marry, Is the powerful theme of the
new Sylvia Sidney-George Raft film,
'You and Me," which opened a
three-day run yesterday at the RTalto
theater.
It Is a romance of the city streets.
with Miss Sidney as a department
store girl who hungers for the right
kind of love, and Raft as a casual
drifter who awakens to his real self
In the pleading arms of the girl
who loves him.
As usual, Miss Sidney Is at her
best in a film of this type, as evi
denced by her past successes. "An
American Tragedy," "Street Scene,"
and "Fury."
The story deals with the struggles
of Miss Sidney and Rait to keep an
ideally happy marriage together, de
spite their extreme poverty, and Miss
Sidney's secret knowledge that she
is an ex-convict, out on parole,
and forbidden connubial rights.
"Silks and Saddles." starring Her
