Gypsy Smith. 78-year old English
evangelist, was married late today to
Mary Alice Shaw, 36, a theological
student In a quiet ceremony per
formed at the bride's home
The man-law? rites were read by
the evangelist's son. the Rev. Albany
Rodney Smith of Mystic, Ct. The
noted evangelist's granddaughter.
Betty Smith, daughter of the Rev.
Albany Smith, was one of the
bridesmaids. The other bridesmaid
was Margaret Webster of Chattan
ooga, Tenn.
Funeral Rites Held
For McCormick Boy
ALBUQUERQLE. N. M., July a.
(AP) In the presence of only close
friends and members of the family,
funeral services were held late to
day at Los Poblanos ranch for
Mcdlll McCormick, 21, who was
killed on a mountain-climbing ex
pedition 10 days ago.
The body of the young scion of
the noted publishing family was
brought off a remote ledge on
North Sandla peak last night fol
lowing one of the most Intensive
searches ever conducted In the
southwestern mountain country.

SAN JOSE. Cal., July 3.- (UP)
Police tonight Investigated the possi
bility of murder in the death of
Clarence Blauer, 51-year-old execu
tive of the California Packing cor
poration, who was found shot to
death In the bathtub of his hotel
room today.
The Investigation was asked by
two brothers, William Blauer. San
Francisco banker, and George Blauer,
rancher, who said their brother had
no reason to take his life. They said
he was well-to-do, and apparently
happy.
Blauer was found In the bathtub
by a chambermaid. His body was
costless but clothed. Nearby was an
old revolver. Police said the shot
which killed htm entered his head
from the rear and emerged through
the side of his forehead. Investi
gators said they were puzzled be
cause suicide victims aeldom fired a
gun from this angle.
