Whirling generators In 68 Oregon
power plants supplied homes, offices
and factories with 1,392.177.000 kilo
watt hours of electricity In 1937.
The figures were made public to
day by the federal power commission,
which reported total production for
the United States In 1937 was 121.
049.630.000 kilowatt hours.
Oregon's power came from 42 hydro
electric plants. 17 steam plants, five
Internal combustion plants, and four
plants with combination generating
faculties.
Of the total production. 1.007,815.-
000 kilowatt hours came from hydro
electric plans. Four hundred sixty
two thousand kilowatt hours of this,
however, was produced for other than
public use.
The Oregon fuel plants were fed
with 542.103 barrels of oil to keep
the generators turning during tho
year.
