United States navy today prepared
to send ft cruiser and the com
mander of Its south China patrol to
Amoy, Fuklen province port seized
by the Japanese navy In a sudden
foray.
Naval quarters said the 7060-ton
cruiser Marblehead would take aboard
Captain J. T. O. Stapler and steam
Sot Amoy, where the United States
gunboat A&heville Is standing by for
protection -of American residents.
Dispatches from Amoy reported

had saved $1,185,240 annually under
Governor Charles Martin's adminis
tration. He said rate reductions amounted
to 4040,166 In electric charges, 161,

ing. The cost of administering the
utilities department declined 183,000
In the last year, Wallace asserted,

NEW YORK, May 12. (API
Mayor Plorello LaGuardla wilj
have hla summer city hall of all
places on a golf course.
He announced he would estab
lish his office during hot months
in the 20-room clubhouse of the
Arrow Brook Golf and Country
club In Forest Hills, Long Island.
The clubhouse is two miles
south of the 1930 world's fair ad
ministration building. The 100
.icre golf course on which the
clubhouse stands will be closed to
the public when LaGuardla taken
over the building July 1.

DENVER. Colo., May 12. (UP)
Ernest Morris, prominent Denver at
torney who died last January, left
the United States government, $505
for the privilege of living under Its
democratic system.
His widow, Mrs. Lillian E. Morris,
who Is also executrix of the estate,
today forwarded a check to Wash
ington for the amount specified In
her husband's will. Other bequests
were made to the state of Colorado
and the city of Denver.
In stating his reasons for the
strange bequests, Morris' will read:
"In token of deep appreciation of
the benefits enjoyed by myself and
family of enlightened democratic
government under the blessing of
the constitution, I give and bequeath
(505 to the U. S. government, $500 to
the state of Colorado and 9255 to the
City and county of Denver and release
a $250 claim for legal services ren
dered the city. . . .'
The attorney also left bequests to
the University of Colorado and several
hospitals and charities in this area.
The balance of his $40,000 estate
was shared by Mrs. Morris and twj
sons.
STEELHEAD PETITION

SALEM. May 12. (AP) An initia
tive petition which would classify
steclhead, steelhead trout and steel-
head salmon as game fish was filed
here today by the Salem Hunters and
Anplers' club.
The measure, which would appear
on the November general election bal
