discloses them.
The short speeches of the two dic

HIT BY- OSBORNE
PORTLAND, May 7. Oov.
Charles H. Martin's description of
himself as a champion of labor was
challenged today by Den T. Osborne,
secretary of the state federation of
labor with the assertion that the
governor fought the unemployment
compensation bill before the legisla
ture. Osborne claimed the governor had
denounced New Deal legislation on
this act and threatened to veto the
Oregon enabling aot. He abandoned
his position, however, when employ
ers displayed favor toward the meas
ure, the labor leader declared.
An essertlon that Martin had shied
away from Intervening In labor vio
lence last fall also came from Oa
borne, who declared that Sheldon
Sackett, Marsh field publisher, had
visited the governor and urged him
to curb terrorist activities only to ba
told by the governor that the sltua
tlon was "too hot" to handle.

I
F you make these three simple tests
when you shop for a car, you'll gel
more for your money:
1. CONSIDER PRICES. You'll find
all Ford prices low and Ford "60"
prices especially low. Price isn't
everything, of course, but it comes
out of your pocket.
2. CHECK EQUIPMENT. Price
means little, if you pay extra for
equipment you've got to have. Ford
prices include equipment. '
3. COUNT CYLINDERS. More
cylinders mean more and t
smoother power impulses. America's
most expensive cars have engines with
8 or more cylinders. Only Ford has
been able to offer the basic advan
tages of 8 cylinders at a low price
with low operating costs. ("Thrifty
60" owners report averages of 22 to
27 miles on a gallon of gas.)
These are only three of the reasons
for visiting a Ford dealer before you
buy. You'll recognize the re'st when
you get out on the road in a Ford V- 8.
You'll realize that it's 8-cylin-0)
drr quality all the way through!
