ed from Klamath Falls last night
with seven federal prisoners who will
be held in the Jackson county Jail
pending presentation of their cases
to the grand Jury In Portland. The
prisoners, all charged with selling
liquor to Indians, were listed as: Wil
liam Whipple, 38. Elmer Engstrom,
43, Felipe Villa, 43, Clarence Hohn,
28. and Irvln Morris, 23, all of Klam
ath Falls, and Orvllle McCracken, 20,
of Chlloquln, and James Sullivan, 53,

Derby Judge Coming Andrew C
Burk, Marlon county sheriff, will fly
to Medford Sunday. May 15. to serve
as a Judge In the second annual na
tional catfish derby, according to a
message received from his Salem of
fice today. He will be met at the
airport by Sheriff Syd I. Brown and
taken by motorcar to Emigrant lake
near Ashland, scene of the contest.
Mr. Burk is a Democratic candidate
for the nomination for U. 8. repre
sentative from the first district. Dur
ing his campaign he has been doing
much traveling by air In order not to
be absent from his office In working
hours.
GLEEMEN MAKE PLANS
FOR COMING SEASON;
All present officers will .be retained
for the fall and winter season, It was
decided by the Medford Gleomen at
their final meeting of this current
season in Prultt'e Music and Radio
Center last night.
Several important changes were
voted for, the improvement of the
organisation, such as procuring an
accompanist so that Sebastian Apollo
may devote all of his time to direct
ing the chorus. It was also decided
that next season the membera would
memorise the songs so that use of
music would not be necessary In
public presentations.
Meetings and reheerals will be re
sumed In September and at that time
an effort will be made to double
the present membership. It was de
cided to give at least three public
recitals In the new season.
Officers are Maynard Bush, presi
dent, and Frank Gray, secretary
treasurer. Sebastian Apollo is direc
