Court Citations Wallace G. Iver
son, 32, of Gold Hill was cited by
state police yesterday to spear before
Justice of the Peace H. D. Reed of
Gold Hill today, charged with driving

Bud W. Boyce. 22. of Los Angeles was
cited to appear In Justice court here
next Friday afternoon, charged with
overloading a truck.
Back to Klamath Mr. and Mrs. T.
S Miller returned today to their
Klamath Palls stock ranch after
spending the winter here. They spend
their summers on the ranch and their
winters In Medford. Mrs. Millar's
brother. George Nichols. Is almost en
tirely recovered from a broken leg
he suffered some time ago, Mrs. Miller
said.
"Moocher" Judged George W. An
derson, 39, a transient, charged with
begging on East Main street yester
day, waa ordered by City Judge Allen
D. Curry this morning to spend 30
days In city Jail or leave, town Im
mediately. He said he would leave
Elbert Culbertson. 36, of Grants Pass,
charged with drunkenness on North
Front street yesterday, was ordered to
leave town or serve 10 days In Jail.
He promised to leave town. . . -
Hall to Visit Seely Hall, general
superintendent of United Air Lines
with headquarters in Chicago, and
son of Mr. and Mrs. Court Hall, Med
ford orchard lata, was on the Maln-
llner that arrived here at 10:30 this
morning. With a group of other
United executives he was en route
to Los Angeles. ' He was met at the
airport by his father and stated ho
would return next week for a brief
visit with his parents.
Candidate' Night All candidates
for public office are invited to ad
dress a Joint assembly of the Crater
Lake aerie and auxiliary of the Fra
ternal Order of Eagles at 9 o'clock
tomorrow night in the Medford arm
ory. The talks will be limited to
three or five minutes, depending up
on the number of candidates who
appear, officers said. The lodge and
auxiliary wllT hold their usual "sep
arate weekly business meetings at 8

Student Feted Muriel Stocks, Med
ford high school senior, returned this
morning from a courtesy flight to
Portland, arranged In her honor for
acting recently as "Miss Jackson
County" In welcoming "Miss Alaska"
Miss Stocks went to Portland Monday
and returned this morning, traveling
each wBy In a United Mainllner. She
was met In Portland by "Miss Ore
zopi." who In private life Is Miss
Barbara Johnson. Her pictures were
taken for Portland newspapers and
she was taken on a tour of the me
tropolis. While In the northern city
Miss Stocks stayed with Mr. and Mrs.
Orvllle Mann. Mrs. Mann being her
cousin. It was Miss Stocks' first
plane trip.
Fnllst In Army Announcement
was made today of the enlistment of
two riedford brothers In the United
States army. They are Loren L and
Arthur L. Boggs, sons of Mr. and Mrs
N. A. Boggs of Route 3. The youths
applied for enlistment at the Med
ford recruiting station In city hall,
April 13. and were accepted tenta
tively by Sgt. Willis 8. Estep. They
passed their final examinations In
Portland and were formally sworn In
to service April 16. They were as
signed to Fort Worden. Wash. Sine;
gnral recruiting waa suspended early
In February. MaJ. H. D. Bagnall. re
cruiting officer In charge of the Port
land district, has been authorized to
enlist a limited number of men tor
service with the 14th coast artillery,
a press release from the major today
said. Information regarding the ser
vice may be obtained from Sgt. Estep
at city hall.

Guy I. Cslkins who wss born In
Iowa February 23. 1884 and had
resided In Medford for the last eight
years, passed away at local hos
pital Tuesday at the age of 64. His
late residence was 809 S. Newtown
St.
Besides his wife he leaves seven
children. Lillian Dakln, Freewater,
Oregon; Ollle Connor. Chlloquln:
Dean. Ruby, Goldie. Ileana and Royal
Calkins all of Medford. Also two sis
ters and one brother residing else
where. Funeral services will be conducted
by the local Fraternal Order of
Eagles, of which deceased was a
member, at the Conger chapel at
2:00 p.m. Thursday.
PASSES IN YREKA
Mrs. Edward High passed away in
Yreks. Calif., today as the result of
a paralytic stroke, according to word
received by friends here.
Bessie Haselton High was born in
Eagle Point, Ore., In May. 1890.
She lived In Ashland until about
five years ago when the family
moved to Yreka.
She leaves to mourn her husband.
Edward High, two sons, Lloyd of
Reno, Nev.. and George of Yreka;
two daughters, Kathleen, and Vir
ginia, both of Yreka; her mother.
Loren a Haselton, of Albany. Ore.;
three brothers. Prank, Aden end
Bobby, and one sister, Jeannette
King of Ashland, also five grand
children, and a host of friends.
Funeral arrangements will be an
nounced later.

A special train from Fort Knox.
Kentucky, bringing replacements for
the South Fork. Tule Lake, Lava
Beds and Silver Lake camps, arrived
In the Medford district yesterday.
The train was divided at Black
Butte. Calif.. 100 men arriving on
the regular S. P. train here for
South Fork. The main train con
tinued to Klamath Falls, where 06
were detrained for Tule Lake and
96 for Lava Beds, The train ended
Its run at Chemult. where 103 men
were detrained for Silver Lake.
Lieut. Roy Craft commnnded the
train, with Lieut. Frank Hnmon as
executive officer and Lieut. M. H.
Harris and Lieut. George Hawkins
as mess officers. Dr. Lawrence W.
Buonocore was train surgeon.
Lieut. Hnmon returned today to
his camp at McKinley. Lieut. Harris,
who reported for duty here has been
assigned to Camp Sitkum and Lieut.
Hawkins, another new officer, has
been assigned to Silver Lake. Dr.
Buonocore has returned to his duties
at Camp Bly and Lieut. Craft to his
duties in Medford.

ers do In "Goldwyn Follies," the big
technicolor musical comedy open
ing today at the New Craterian
theater.
To do the number and do It right,
the Ritzes needed cats and more
cats pet cats, alley cats, stray cats.
tomcats, Maltese, Persian, and any
thing else they could find. When
there seemed to be enough cats
handy, the routine was started as a
rehenrsal. The scene is Menjou's of
fice and the boys are trying to get
themselves a Job. In the midst of
their number ("Pussy, Pussy") tho
cats start coming In through the
door, the window, wherever there's
an opening until the room looks
more like a haven for all the eats
