Local Couple Wed
In Grants Pass .
Saturday Morning
A marriage of Interest locally took
place in Grant Pau Saturday morn
ing when Miss Vernt Rose Manuel
became the brMe of Dr. Franols J
Moffatt.
The couple were attended by the
bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs, R. B.
Manuel of Qrants Paw. and Miss
Gertrude Watzllng of Medford. The
Christian minister officiated at the
service.
Dr. and Mrs. Moffatt will make
their home At their ranch on the
Old Stage road.
Mrs, Moffatt formerly lived In
Kansas, later coming to Grants Pdss
with her parents and then moved to
this city,' where she has resided for
some time.
Dr. Moffatt has made his home In
Medford for the past four years.

At Fick Home
Miss Virginia Pick left today for
Klamath Palls where she Is a teacher
In the Klamath Union high school.
Miss Pick enjoyed the brief Easter
vacation as guest of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Prcd Pick at their homo
on Newtown street.
Another guest at the Pick home
over 'the week end was Clyde A
Malone, Jr., who recently returned
from Honolulu, where he has resided
for many years. Mr. Malone Is Mrs.
Pick's nephew.

fill shower and party honoring Miss
Gladys Denman, bride-elect.

tions of tho Easter motif, pinochle
was played throughout the evening
High score was won by Miss Denman
and low score by Corlnne Crawford.

Is Married To
James Vincent
Climaxing a romance which began
in the summer of 1930, Miss Mayme
Virginia Severson, younger daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. L. E, Severson of
San Bernardino, Calif., and James
Oliver Vincent of this olty were
married- at the home of the bride's
parents, Thursday evening In the
southern California city.
For her marriage the attractive
brunette bride wore blue lace over
taffeta and carried an effective ar
rangement of roses. Her only attend
ant was Miss Cloey Vincent, cousin
of the bridegroom, Willis Severson,
brother of the bride, served as best
man. The bridal party stood beneath
a wedding bell used 24 years ago at
the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Sev
erson, .
Mr. and Mrs. Vincent have left on
a motor trip which will take them to
San Francisco, where they will spend
a few days visiting friends and rela
tives, after which they will come to
Medford to make their home.
Mr, Vincent Is well known In this
valley. He Is a native of Sams Valley
and attended Central Point high
school, from which he graduated. He
Is employed here by Fluhrer bakeries

At Farewell Party
Mrs. Ed y the Martin, who for the
past two years has served as secretary
treasurer of the Medford unit, Amer
ican Legion auxiliary, was guest of
honor Thursday evening at the home
of Mrs. O. L. Overmyer on South
Holly street. Mrs. Martin has left
Medford for San Jose, Calif., where
she will make her home.
The honoree was presented with an

Medford unit In appreciation of the ,
active part she has taken In auxiliary I
activities In this community. Re
freshments were served at the close
of the evening.

On Friday evening, the Ladles'
auxiliary of the Siskiyou Canton
M. held their regular meeting In
the ladles parlor of the I. O, O. T.
hall.
At this time It was planned to pay
fraternal visit to the Central Point
Rebekah lodge on Wednesday eve
ning. April 30, The Canton members
were also Invited to attend with the
ladles.
At the close of the meeting. Lady
Carrie McDanne and her committee
served refreshments. The tables were
attractive with decorations of yellow
and purple tapers, Easter UlUes and
candles.

Easter Rites Held
At McKee Bridge
Fifty-four persons attended a com
munity Easter sunrise service yes
terday at McKee bridge In the Apple
gate recreational area of the Rogue
River national forest. Breakfast was
served after the service.
A large group held picnic lunch
at McKee bridge, 13 cars being regis
tered. During tho afternoon about
100 persons ongnged In recreational
pursuits at both McKoe bridge and
Beaver Sulphur.
