Bob Purvis was seriously Injured
In an accident on April B. He was
helping Charlie Skeetera with the
bulldozer when they went over the
grade, throwing Mr. Purvis and break
ing his pelvis bone. David Bradled
rushed him to the Community has-
fiuu in Aaniana. wnere or. Haines
took X-ray pictures of the bresk.
He later was moved to Portland to
a, bone specialist. Word has been
received that he stood the trip fine
and was resting easy. Bob Purvis
recently sold his ranch In this dis
trict ana is living in Talent.

the Talent city hall, we expect, a

moved to his ranch. He has worked

her daughter Joyce that she is play

her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Crete

TALENT, April 14. (Spl.) Th
community was saddened to learn
of the fatal accident that occurred
to Mr. J. O. Wattenburger at Echo,
Ore., Monday morning. Mr. Watten
burger, who was driving a roadster,
In passing a truck skidded In loose
gravel and turned over In a ditch
of water. -He drowned before aid
could reach him. Te car was a com
plete wreck. Mr. Wattenburger wat
wltb his sheep shearing crew at Echo.
He was burled at Echo by the aide
of hi father.-
Mrs. Clair Preston of Denver, Colo.,
who spent a few days visiting her
daughter, Mrs. Paul Walker, went
to Klamath Palls to visit friends.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Hamilton of Tula
Lake are visiting relatives In Talent.
Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Maxwell and
family have moved to Keene- Creek
and will operate a service station.
Mr. Maxwell was formerly chief of
police of Talent.

Marlyn Mahoney was taken to the

Agricultural adjustment administra
tion announced state wheat aoreage
allotments today under the 1938 farm
program.
The allotments will serve as the
basis for payments to wheat grower
from the 5O0,O00,000 soil conservation
fund congress Is authorized to ap
propriate. The national allotment, established
In the new farm act, la S3, 500.000
seres. It compares with an average
of 70.M8.930, acres seeded to wheat
and diverted from the grain In the
1928-37 period.
