has been augmented for the special

Confers Here Harry K. Ooffey of
Portland, regional manager of the
Mutual Benefit Health and Accident
company, conferred here yesterday
with Marshall Reeves, local manager.
Mr. Coffey arrived In the morning
from Klamath Falls In his Stlnson
plane and left In the afternoon for
Portland. An aviation enthusiast. Mr.
Coffey Is governor for Oregon of the
National Aeronautic association.
To Teach Violin Lawrence Hubert,
formerly first violinist with Rublnoff,
has opened a studio In the Baldwin
piano shop where he will give private
violin lessons. Mr. Hubert Is the com
poser of the ten musical numbers In
the pageant. "United States, the
Melting Pot,M which was produced
last year by the public schools of
Josephine county.
Repairing Radios W. C. Claypool,
radio electrician at the regional for
ester's office In Portland, called at
Medford headquarters of the Rogue
River national forest this morning.
Later he left for Grants Pass, taking
the Rogue forest's radio sets with him
for overhaul at the Siskiyou national
forest shop. The radios are being put
in perfect condition for use in fire
control this season.
Lions Meeting Today's weekly
luncheon-meeting of the Lions club
In Valentine's cafe was devoted to a
discussion of the revue to be present'
ed under the club's auspices next
Tuesday and Wednesday. It was an
nounced that the Junior Symphony
orchestra and the Medford Gleemen,
to be featured In the revue, will share
In the ' proceeds. The share of the
proceeds received by the Lions club
will be used In furtherance of Its
work among the blind.
. Minor Accidents Harold B. Mercer
of Roseburg and Sadie Roach of
Crater Lake drove cars Involved In a
minor accident on East Sixth street
Tuesday noon, a city police report
said today. Cars driven by Mrs. Erwln
J. Larene of 724 North Riverside ave
nue and Max J. Hawks of Central
Point struck each other with slight
damage at North Riverside avenue
and West Jackson boulevard Monday
morning, according to a city police
report today.
Road Conditions Butte Palls, road
to Fish lake Is open as far as the
Mosquito guard station which la nine
miles from the lake. Rogue River na
tional forest headquarters announced
today. The Lake Creek road was re
ported open to Nygren. about 10 miles
from Fish lake. No tire chains are
needed on the roads to those points,
the forest service said. Snow blocks
progress beyond the two points. Snow
at Fisn lake dam was 38 Inches deep
this morning. The Iske was complete
ly frozen, ice ranging from 18 to 33
Inches thick, the forest service stated.

Craterian Feature
The famous Dionne Quintuplets
are featured In a special two reel at
traction appearing on the same pro
gram with "Sally Irene and Mary."
opening today at .the New Craterian
theatre.
Titled "Qulntupland." the short
shows the DlonneB a hardy quintette
of tots well able to play in snowbanks
and stand the rigors of the Northern
winters at the age of 3 years. The
action is highlighted by mid-winter
outdoor scenes, with the playful An
nette, Ceclle, Etnelle. Marie and
Yvonne seemingly unmindful of wea
ther twenty degrees below zero as
they cavort In snowbanks, -and on
skis come zooming down their short
ski runway.
The Dlonnes axe now confirmed
movie fans and In "Qulntupland"
they are also shown. whooping it up
as scenes from a Mickey Mouso car
toon are unfolded. The girls refer to
Mickey as Michel le Souris.
