TThe state of Oregon ts fortunate In
having Ideal dairying conditions with
in ltc borders. Long recognised for Its
eminent position among states as
a large producer of dairy products. It
has been known primarily for the
high quality standards to which Its
products conform. Many sections of
the United States produce milk but
Oregon la favored with a suitable
climate and sufficient rainfall to pro
vide Ideal natural grazing conditions
which are so essential to the produc
tion of pure balanced milk of nat
ural flavor.
The Borden company early recog
nized the advantages of the state of
Oregon as a source of supply of good
milk suitable for their exacting use
In the production of Borden's Irra
diated Evaporated Milk. Today Bor
den's operate a large condensary lo
cated at Albany in the heart of the
famous Willamette valley. To the
Borden plant many dairymen dally
deliver thousands of pounds of good
fresh milk direct from the dairy. This
good milk is quickly processed by
modern methods and machinery.
Sterilized within the cans the evap
orated milk Is made pure and safe
and Is quickly shipped to consum
ers throughout Oregon and In fact
the entire Pacific slope Including
Alaska. Borden's rigid top-quality
standards of production and distri
bution protect the fine flavor and
quality of the milk which Is received
dally from Oregon dairies, making It
available for use by consumers
througrout a wide-spread area. Thus
too, a larger and more stable market
Is provided for Oregon dairymen.
"Oregon Builders" is a term which
aptly describes The Borden's Milk
operations In Oregon. It Is a substan
tial factor In the local economic
structure as' Is evidenced by large
regular yearly expenditures. This
money Is spent in a steady month
by month flow for milk, labor, fuel,
can, cases, oil and general operat
ing supplies.
Day by day Borden's are seeking to
Improve their product and make It
even more useful and beneficial as a
dally food. Typical of this progressive
activity ts the recently developed pro
cess of Irradiation by which the lat
ent undeveloped units of vitamin D
naturally present In milk are devel
open and "made available for easy as
similation by users.
The term "Irradiation simply de
scribes the modern process of expos
ing evaporated milk In a thin film
to a large ultra ray lamp, momen
tarily. Just as an apple on a tree la
made suitable for eating by the
ripening action of sunshine, so is
milk improved and the sunshine
vitamin D units Increased by Irra
diation. Sunshine vitamin D la par
ticularly beneficial to growing chil
dren In assisting the building of
sturdy healthy bodies.

SEEN FOR U. S.
MTTNCIE. Ind. (AP) The United

portant fsrm crops of tomorrow,"

"There Is even a man on our
staff." he said, "who suffered from
ulcers of the stomach. He has been
