Many Affairs Are
On Calendar For
Thanksgiving Week
The Thanksgiving week-end will be
a gay one for Medford Boclety with
the return ol college students to
their homes here and many visitors
in the city aa guests of relatives and
friends over the holiday.
. Numerous family dinners have been
arranged for Thanksgiving day and
aeverel cocktail par.tles . are also
planned.
The larger event for the week-end
will be the no-host dancing party
Saturday evening at Dreamland hall.
About seventy-five couples have been
Invited for the gala evening.
A number of Medford families will
be out of town over the holtday as
guests of friends and relatives.

Holiday In Portland
. Mrs. Ben Stafford and son, Bruce,
are leaving Wednesday morning for
Portland, where they will meet Major
Stafford, who has spent the past two
weeks In Montana and Idaho. The
Btaffords will be guests of Capt. and
Mrs. E. W. Ely In the Rose City over
Thanksgiving and will roturn to Med
ford late In the week.

ing service of the Women's Mission

church was held Tuesday afternoon
at the home of Mra. L. N. Younger.
A brief business session preceded
the program with Mrs. Maynard
Putney presiding. Mrs. J. W. Hoyt
ci'iifunited to serve as vice-president
or the society and chairman of the
spiritual life group until election of
officers.
Mrs. Frank Albert, chairman of the
alternoona program, conducted the
worship service. Hymns of thanks
gtvlng and praise were sung by the
croup. Mesdames Hodgklns, Baker.
Brewer and Jsqua gave quartet num
bers which were greatly enjoyed.
The foreisn topic was the mission
ary work In Syria and Iran presented
by Miss Ellrabeth Burr, while the

by Mrs. Albert.

Three study groups of the Ameri
can Association of UnUerslty Women
met this past week.
The International Relations group
met with the leader, Mra. John F.
Lawrence. This group la atudylng
a particularly fascinating subject
under the able leadership of Mra.
Lawrence. She attended the Congress
of Internationals at Reed college re
cently at which speakers from many
nations of the world. Including Ja
pan. China, England. France, Ger
many and others, . appeared on the
program at the most interesting
session.
The creative arte group met with
their leader, Mrs. Darell Huson Wed
nesday evening and worked on
Christmas cards. This group will
meet each week.
The social study group met with
Miss Vera Humphrey and Mra. David
Vale, assistant leader, was In charge.
Mlsa Dorothy Voting gave an excel
lent report on the American Federa
tion of Labor and Mrs. Wilms, Kin
caid spoke on "Terms and Ideas of
La bar Unions."
