GUN CLUB OPENS
TURKEY SHOOTING
Turkeys, Ducks, Chickens,
Grocery Baskets Make Up
Prizes Special Event for
Radio and News Novices
Opening the winter trapshootlng
season with Its first turkey shoot
of the year, the Med ford Oun club
will entertain the public, as well
as Its membership at the club
grounds at the north end of the
Airport Sunday morning at 10
o'clock. Both 16-yard and afreet shoot
ing will be shot.-
Featuring the shoot will be a
special event for the news and radio
operators In appreciation of the
club's assistance received from these
agencies in making the gun club
vents so successful In the past.
Ammunition, guns and targets win
be furnished free to the newspaper
and radio contestants, no entry lee
will be charged and a fine Thanks
giving turkey will be the prize for
the successful contestant. As far as
the gun club officials know, none
of the publicity people has ever
done any trapshooung. The special
event will be open only to these in
experienced shooters, the only re
quirement being that they are bona
flde active employees of some local
news disseminating organization. 4
Dressed turkeys, ducks and chick
ens and baskets of groceries will
make up the list of prizes. Winners
will be privileged to take orders for
turkeys to be delivered Just before
Thanksgiving.
Refreshments and lunch will tte
served on the grounds and the large
well-heated club house will assure
the public of a comfortable day's
entertainment If the weather Is in
clement. With the upland bird season closed
and the unsatisfactory regulations
for duck shooting having discouraged
the hunters, a large entry and gal
lery of spectators are anticipated.

State college grldmen nearing Los
Angeles hoped Joe Gray, late of the
casualty list, would be able to stand
the gaff against Southern California
Saturday.
"Gray's leg Isn't any too strong
yet," Stiner said, "but If he can get
by through most of the game I be
lieve we might take them but I
won't promise it."

Mosconl meets Erwln Rudolph of

Irving Crane of Livonia. N. Y., for
the coveted first place.
Crane advanced to first position
by virtue of Mosconl's defeat yester
day at the hands of Jimmy Cams of

bust of Dr. John McLougnltn. Ore
gon City pioneer and chief factor

money will be raised by penny con
tributions from school children.
