schools. It wss decided at last night's
regular semi-monthly meeting ot
the Southern Oregon Gem and Min
eral society In the Jackson County
Chamber of Commerce.
The society haa been giving sam
ples foe study to the two schools St
periodic Intervals but the action
voted last night makes tho donations
a regular semi-monthly project.
Specimens are to be brought to each
semi-monthly meeting and then
turned over to the schools.
Plans were completed last night
for the society's participation In the
Armistice Day parade November 11.

A Seth Thomaa clock, five feet long.
18 Inches wide and 10 Inches deep,
was stolen from the Johnson Jewelry
store sometime Monday night. It was
reported to city police yesterday by
John w. Johnson, owner.
Johnson told city polios he removed
the clock from the well so that paint
ers could work. He ssld the clock
was missing when he opened for busi
ness vesterdsy morning.
The owner told police he wu offer

the huge timepiece.

Luther Brewer. 58. died 1b local
hospital last night after an Illness of
two days. Funeral services. In charge
of the Perl funeral home, will be an

Brewer was born in Missouri Aug.

sociations had assets of 14.056.WO
on June 30. Were being little change

Brown, the youths appeared Sunday
evening at the store front door, urged
customera not to enter, called those
who did "scabs," and In a couple of
instances barred the way by holding
hands. ,
According to the sheriff and t'ls

to the strict manner In which Huron
conducted his business, placing too
many restrictions upon them.- The
establishment Is a favorite gathering
place of the younger set.
"It was Just a case of youth In
Its fullest flower," District Attorney
Newman said, "and further outbreak
by these boys or any other boys will
not be tolerated."
Huson said: "The boys and I had
different ideas about how I should
run my business. I held out for law
and order. The boys were all back
last evening, and It looks like the
Incident Is closed."
