Letter Told Intent.
Before getting on the stage In
Medford. Timothy had left a letter
to bis step-daughter, Mrs. Hel r.
Richardson. The note said: "Bel, I
can't stand to see her sutler, so 1
am going for a long walk and may
not get back."
The message waa discovered by
Miss Lottie Watklna at 1106 West
Main street, home of Mr. and Mra.
Timothy since last September M.
Mlsa Watklna was their nurse.
Authorities were certain Timotny
had taken bla own Hie, but all at
tempts to recover his body proveo
futile.
With his wife. Timothy came to
Medford In 1910 from Clinton. Iowa,
where they had been married In
1884. For a number of yeara he waa
employed by the Southern Pacmc
railroad In the local baggage de
partment. In 1917, he Joined tne
Medford police force as a patrolman
and was promoted to chief In 1918.
He served In that cspaclty until ivm
during which time he made hun
dreds of friends In the city, rouow
lng his police career, Timothy work'
ed at odd Jobs here and there, spend
ing some time In the fruit. In later
yeara he became 111 wltn neart irou
ble and was unable to do mucn
work. He was confined In a local
hospital for seven months previous
to moving, with his wife. Into tneir
home at 1106 West Main street.
Was 81 Years Old.
He wss born in Franklin drove,
111., on May 9. 1850, and was 87
years old. One child wss born to
his union with Mrs. nmoiny iurs.
Henry C. Krelm of Clinton, lows,
who Is his sole survivor. With ner
husband, Mrs. Krelm visited the aged
couple during September and helped
them get aettled In their new home,
Mra. Bel F. Richardson of Medlora
Mrs. Timothy's daughter by a pre'
vlous marriage, is the only step-child
residing nesrby. One step-son sna
one step-daughter live In the middle
west.
