Pursuant to ths prOYltloni of Section 8, Chsptsr 4 of h luaa
Session Law of Oregon, notloe Is hereby given that the County Court
of Jackson County. Oregon, will meet at the Court House In Medford.
Oregon, on the 19th day of November A. D. 1937. at the hour of 10:00
o'clock A. M. of aald day and at the aald time and place opportunity
will be given for a full and complete dUcuaalon of the estimate of tne
amount of money proposed to be raised by taxation for the ensuing year
si published herewith, by any taxpeyer eubject to such levy when maae
in favor of or aganlat any of the proposed tax levies herein aa the County
Court may deem for the best interest of Jackson County.
The County Budget Committee for Jackson County, Oregon, haa pre
pared and submits the following! An estimate of the amount required for
each department of County government, county office and County officer,
ten County Improvement, ths maintenance of each County bul ding,
structure or Inatltutlon, ths aalary of each County officer or employee.
Including those whose salarlea are fixed by statute, for the Improvement
and maintenance of publlo highways, roads, bridges, the construction,
operation and maintenance of each public utility and redemption ot
out-stsndlng warrants, the estimate of the publlo receipts of the County
from sources othsr than direct taxation upon real and personal property
in the County during the period for which auch tax la to be levied and
an estimate of the probable unapportloned and unexpended balance in
the funda of the County on the last day of the current year. The officers
salaries, the County School Fund for 10,100 children at aio.00 per child.

Air Lines flying their regular rounds
along the mid-continent airway to
night will record the 30.000th coast-to-coast
passenger plane trip over
that route, thereby setting an inter
national record tor long distance
scheduled psssenger plsne operations.
A slngle-englned mall plane car
rying two passengers completed the
first coast-to-coast passenger sched
ule In 1937 through connections at
Chicago of Boeing Air Transport and
National Air Transport, later merged
Into United Air Lines.
The 1937 flight required 33 hours
snd 14 refueling stops. The fare was
16 cents a mile. Progress made in
the last decade is Indicated by the
fact that tonight's anniversary flight
from coast to coast will require 18
houra and Just three refueling stopa,
at fares which are only one-third of
what they were 10 years ago.
