The ceremony will be solemnized
October 7 st 4 o'clock In Swedenbor

will be followed by a reception at
the home of the bride's sister, Mrs.
Alex Young, in San Francisco.
Both Miss Sollnsky and Mr. Guth
rie formerly resided here with thlr
families and the wedding will arouse
much Interest among a wide circle
of friends In the city and valley.
Mrs. Guthrie haa been the house
guest of Mrs. C. S. Newhall here for
the past few weeks and has been
greeted by many old frlenda here.
She will remain until early In Oc
tober when she will go south for
the wedding. Many friends from
here are also making plans to accept
Invitations to the ceremony.

uled for 8 o'clock at the armory. All
members are particularly urged to

Miss Ora Cox, member of the local
group and last year state president,
has been appointed national patri
otic Instructor and local officials
state that her appointment to na
tional office is considered a distinct
honor to the Medford tent.
Miss Cox will represent the daugh
ters at constitutional exercises to be
held In the city park tomorrow evening.

Glen Dole Wed
Miss Velma Fowler, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Loren Fowler of Pros
pect, became the bride of Glen Dole,
son of Rev. and Mrs. James Dole of
Prospect. In An Impressive ceremony
Friday evening st 8 o'clock In the
Church of the Nazarene at Pros
pect. Mlu Marie Dole, sister of the
groom, Attended the bride as brides
maid. Glen Kofman. Medford, cou
sin of the bride, was best man. Ja
nette Grieves and Gloria Dunagan
were flower girls.
Rev. Leonard Hannon read the ser
vice before an altar banked with
autoumn flowers and foliage. About
75 relatives snd friends were present
for the service.
Gloyde Dole sang "I Love Tou
Truly," accompanied by Miss Dolores
Dole, who also played the wedding
march.
The bride wore ivory silk tulle
over satin with a tulle veil held by
orange blossoms and carried a bou
quet of rosebuds. The bridesmaid
was gowned in blue taffeta. Flower
girls wore pastel shades and carried
baskets of flowers.
Bride and groom left after the
ceremony for a honeymoon, planning
to return to make their home near
Prospect.

association will meet for the first fall
session tomorrow afternoon at 8

At Tucker Residence
Arriving this morning by train
from the south was Nlon Tucker of
San Francisco, planning a vacation
stay at Rogue's Roost. Tucker sum
mer residence on Rogue river.
He was accompanied by his mother.
Mrs. J. L. Tucker of Sacramento,
Calif.; two sisters. Mrs. Russell Lowe
of Woodland and Mrs. William Nllon
of San Franctsco. and his sister-in-law,
Mrs. Harold Tucker of Sacra
mento. The group will vacation for several
days at the river lodge, where Mr.
and Mrs. Tucker entertain many
guests throughout the summer.

At First Gathering
Outgoing and incoming officers of
the DeMolay Mothers' club were
hostesses to members for the first,
session of the year at the Girls' Com
munity clubhouse Monday afternoon.
Retiring officers are: Mrs. Grant
Todd. Mrs. O. E. Myers and Mrs.
Blanche Taylor. New heads are Mrs.
J. C. Thompson, Mrs. B. B. Pine snd
Mrs. J. P. Getllegs.
Next session is scheduled for Oc
tober 10 at the Glrln Community

I SET IN
An inquest into the death of Mrs.
N. H. Atchison of Portland, from in
juries sustained Monday in an auto
crash on the Pacific highway, seven
miles south of Grant Pass, will be
held late this afternoon, the district
attorney announced this morning.
Mrs. Atchison's legs were broken and
other Injuries were inflicted In the
collision which involved three auto
mobiles and a freight truck.
John Howard Logsdon of Fort Klam
ath, held In the county Jail as oper
ator of the parked auto, allegedly
causing the accident. In a complaint
filed in Justice court yesterday, is
charged with failure to report an ac
cident, and fleeing from the scene.
No hearing will be held until after
the coroner's Inquest.
Logsdon Is alleged to have fled fol
lowing the accident on the
pretext he was going to telephone for
help. He later returned and was ar
rested by state police.
Mrs. Margaret Fisher of Fort Klam
ath, asserted companion of Logsdon
charged with being drunk on a pub
lic highway, is also held pending a
Justice court hearing.
LONGSHOREMEN ACCEPT

land longshoremen wore formally
chartered under the C.I.O. Interna
tional Longshoremen's and Ware
housemen's Union today, the new
charter being accepted last night

Coyote Attacks
Boy In Log Camp
LAKEVIEW, Sept. 23. &) Marvin
Ge&s, 7. was recovering today from
deep lacerations received when . he
was attacked by a coyote at the Fred
Anderson logging camp Tuesday.
The animal, believed to have been
maddened by pain from porcupine
quills embedded In its throat, mouth
and head, leaped from the brush as
the youngster was watching opera
tions at the camp.
Loggers killed the coyote.
A process for the manufacture of
synthetic camphor has been devel
oped In the research laboratories of
the Japanese department of finance.
according to reports from Tokyo,
Japan has a world monopoly in
natural camphor.

He states that he is leaving Medford
and the Rogue River valley with re
luctance, and praised the fine co
operation between growers, county
officials, Oregon Stat college and
federal agencies, which have provided
excellent facilities for research.
