procure a bob-tailed cat for MaJ, and
Mrs. B. B. M cM ah on, former Medford
residents now living la Tuscalooea,
Ala., has obtained the desired kitten
and it will be shipped soon to the
McMahons,
Ma McMahon, former executtva of

took a bob-tailed Medford kitten with
him when he left three years ago.
The cat died recently and the major
wrote requesting another.
The bob-tailed kitten waa obtained
by Lieut. Smith from the Leon B.
Hawkins household, whose cat Sassy,
mother of the Elks' famed cat, pro
duces bob-tails with every Utter,
The kitten has a short tail with a
hook on the end, an extra toe on each
foot and its htnd legs are slightly
bowed. It is considered sufficiently
freakish to satisfy the most exacting
demands on the part of the McMahon
family.
The kitten will be sent as far as
Port Knox. Kentucky, with a CCC
troop train In about two weeks and
will be expressed from there to Ala
bama, Lieut. Smith said.
