matic break between Oreat Britain
and Japan over the shooting of the
British ambassador at Shanghai and
chances the Japanese blockade of the
Chine, coast would hit the United
States as well as other nations and
further endanger world peace.
A few utllltlca, rails and specialities
did comparatively well, although most
were unable to finish ahead. Extreme
setbacks were reduced before the
close.
Dealings were light during the
morning. Momentum picked up on
the late sell-off. Transfers were
around" 890,000 shares.

creased Inquiry from eastern markets.

mise higher prices for turkey growers
this year, a market survey said today.
Albert H. Clark of the Columbia
Produce company purchased the last
1000 pounds from the 1936 crop and
dispatched the shipment to an east
ern client. Eastern reports said
movement of birds out of storage
had been exceptionally heavy re
cently. Buyers are already Inquiring what
the growers expect In the way of
prices for the holiday birds. The
survey said there had been some re
ports of a 5 to 7 cent advance over
a ynr ago.

Organisation of a cooperative asso
ciation waa completed last night at
a meeting of Jackson county peach
growers. Name adopted by the or
ganisation waa the Rogue River Val
ley Peach O rowers association.
It was announced that the main
objectives of the association are to
set and maintain a peach price that
Is fair to both the producer and con
sumer; to oppose unfair trade prac
tices such ss non-uniform pack, price
outtlng snd misleading advertising;
to procure the cooperation of local
stores; and to obtain Information
regarding markets and prices for
association members.
The meeting denounced the assert
ed practice of advertising off-grade
peaches at a low price without re
vealing their actual grading. AU as

successful method of amalgamating
gold and turning It Into bullion at
the mine was achieved at the Pilgrim
mine In Chloride, . D. Oardner.
