high school arena last night and
when It waa all aald and done, the
boy ataagered to their corner with

In the ding-dong battle.
Toots Efctes returned after a long
absence to surprise villainous Jack
La Rue in two straight tumbles In the
middle event and Danny Savlch foul
ed his way to an unpopular win over
Curio Rodrlguex In the opening
squabble.
' The Kohen -Clemens dog-fight,
which was previously llgured by ad
dicts to be not so hot, turned out
to be one of the wannest affairs wit
nessed here In many moons. It was
the first match In a long time that
went the entire time limit, and the
two received an ovation as they
drooped their way to the dressing
room, both considerably the worse
for wear.
Kohen, mixing foul tactic with
really great grappling, manufactured
the first tumble after over 44 min
utes of strenuous work on the part
of both boys. Clemens cut loose with
three sonnenberg'a the last of which
missed fire, and the New York Jaw
promptly alapped on his painful leg
breaker to get Referee Toy Aho'a nod.
Until that point, It was all Kohen,
and he deserved the fall. For fully
35 minutes he applied the pressure
on a pinching head lock, a maneuver
that forced Clemens on the defensive
at all times.
The Indian, still befuddled, hop
ped on hi bicycle until his head
cleared and then roared off the ropes
to win the second fall in 8:03. He
won It with what he termed the In
dian Bow-Knot, one of the most pe
culiar holds ever displayed here. He
grabbed K oh en's hands, pulled his
arms through his legs, and stood him
on his shoulder blade. Helplejs si
a baby. Kohen couldn't make a move
to break the hold.
In the remaining seven minutes of
wrestling time, both hoya tried des
perately to take the deciding rail,
but both were too tired to do much
damage.
Only threo tlmea aid Clemen at
tempt to use his fomoua Indian par
alyser, and only once did he really
clamp It on tho .Jew. However, Kohen
managed to break loose and hit for
the ropea. Tlie othfli two tlmea,
Kohen squirmed for the strands at
the first ai'n of what was coming.
Toots Entes, lashter and appar
ently a uottcr wrestler than ever,
used sor.nenborg'A In the third round
to pin La Rue and ended the match
in the fourth frame with sonnen
berg's and a rebounding scissors. It
waj a tough, dirty match, with La
Rue pulling everything In the book
In an attempt to clamp on hla effec
tive hammer lock. Ho did Just once
but Toots managed to wriggle out.
Danny Snvlch beat Carlos Rodri
guez. Mexico's "hot tamale." In the
third round with a well-aimed clout
to the button, a blow that knocked
the Mexican to the floor outalde the
ring and Also, unconscious. Savlch
waa given tho first fall In the second
round after applying a figure eight
leg-breaker, but Heforee Aho reversed
his decision when the dirty Danny
refUM'd to brenk the hold, and award
ed the tumble to Rodrtguea on a
foul.
Ending the match, Savlch grabbed
Rodriguez by the hair and hurled i
him through the rope. The Mexican j
landed on hla head outside the ring
and Just managed to rigger back at '
the count of 1H. Agoln Savlch heaved
the "hot tamnle" outside the arena
nd ARain Rodrlguet attempted to
climb back In. Aa he waa about to
throw a leg through the strands and
continue. Snvlch let fly a right-foot
kick that landed flush on the Hod
tiguea chin, catapulted him to the
feet of ilivisldtirn, and wound up pro
ceedings. Itndrlguee waa out so cold
that 10 minutes Inter ho had to be
carried to the dressing room.
