Returns Home Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
H. Lutz and son, Richard, of Ber
keley. Cal.. returned to their home
yesterday after spending a 10-day
vacation at Callfornla-on-the-Rogue.
Mr. Lutz finished his last days of
fishing by landing a six and a seven
pound steelhead. He stated the Rogue
river was the finest stream he ever
fished.

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Robinson will
leave for California tomorrow for
an indefinite stay. They will be ac
companied by John B. Griffin. The

Back from Vacation Dr. William
W. P. Holt and family, with the ex
ception cf Mrs. Holt, returned home
last night from a 4.000-mlle motor
car vacation. Mrs. Holt stopped off at
Berkeley. Calif., to spend a month
with her mother, Mr6. Hanson Pratt.
The HolU were away for two weeks
during which time they sojourned in
Los Angeles and Yellowstone, Grand

operations of the Pelican Bay Lumber

weather remains favorable, no fur
ther outbreak la anticipated

Point for many years, died while on
visit with his son, In Muscatine,
Iowa, on August S.
Mr, Anders war, born In old St.
Johns. Iowa, In 1863. He was united
in marriage to Miss Nina Morley at
Clarlnda, Iowa, In 1884. He was a
member of the National Mlnearolo-
glst society.
He Is survived by hi wife and the
following children: Mrs. Nora Black
of Medford. C. E. Anders of Klamath
Falls. M. H. Anders of Medford ami
Ray Anders of Central Point. Twelve
grandchildren and two great grand
children also survive.

ASTORIA, Aug. 9. (API Fire de
stroyed the Padtlc Marine Products
corporation plant early today at a
lose estimated between 170,000 and
100.000.
The blare started In a dryer and
spread to thousands of gallons of
plchsrd oil stored In 13 huge tanks.
The oil-fed flamea completed their
destruction In half an hour.
The plant Is on the Sklpanon river
between the Prouty lumber mill and
the Young'a Bay lumber mill. Rain
laat night and a heavy mist today
prevented the tire from spreading.
The plant was operating at the
peak of the season with two months
to go on this year's output. It oper
a ted between three and seven pil
chard boats and worked two 13-msn
crews.
Joe Anderson, vice-president and
general manager, said the plant will
be rebuilt.
