Fire Danger Eases With the pass
ing of electric storms, fire danger
on the Rogue River national forest
was eased considerably touay. on;
one new lighting-caused fire was re
ported and It was confined to a snag
at the head of Dead Indian creeK.
Of the 54 fires caused by lightning
Sunday and Monday only four re
malned this morning to be complete
ly extinguished.

lightning-caused fires over the Ump
qua forest and the upper part of
the Rogue forest along the divide.
In some parts of .the forests, It was
pointed out, fires cannot be spotted
from lookout stations. The two for
esters' were piloted by Thomas A.
Culbertson, Jr., In his Waco plane.
Both men are In charge of fire con
trol on their forests.

swimming with a party of friends.
The body was recovered by members
