"I have long felt that the South
ern Oregon Normal school. In spon
soring the annual summer festival
of Shakespeare plays, la making a
definite contribution to the cul
tural' life of the state, and one
which reflects credit on all of
southern Oregon.
The opportunity afforded ue each
year to see Shskespeare on the stage
Just as the plays were originally
written and produced la one which
all of us should appreciate.

this year. Walter F. Dillingham,
noted pololst and breeder, haa sent
his outstanding pony. Toy Moon, to
Ebbey Gerry of New York for use In
eastern contests. In addition five
others are being sent to Long Island
for use by Gay Dillingham on the
Harvard university team.

Battles of a colonel and his lady,
which resulted In an order ejecting
them and their seven children from
officers' row at the presidio in San
Francisco military reservation, were
related In suits and counter suits
before the civil courts today.
The officer, Lieutenant Colonel La

nalc orps, yesterday asked the San
Francisco courts to give him a divorce
because his wife goasiped of intimate
affairs to other army wives, told his
children he was of low moral charac
ter, urged their oldest daughter (now
