Grass Fire A ten-acre grass fire
east of Phoenix yesterday afternoon
was extinguished without damage by
a state forest crew of 13 men. In
cluding eight CCC enrol lees. Origin
of the fire, which the district war
den's office Sftld started on the Rock
property, was not determined. Men
and equipment were dispatched to the
fire from the district wardens head'
quarters on MTdway road here.
In Car Crash Dr. and Mrs. Fred
erick H. Johnson of 3323 East Main
street were in an automobile collision
near Billings, Mont., while en route
home from a trip to eastern Canada,
It was stated In a letter received by
a friend here today. Mrs. Johnson
suffered from shock and minor
brulaea, the letter said. The John
son machine, a new Bulck, was badly
damaged. It was struck by a car
traveling on the wrong side around
a blind curve, the doctor wrote. The
letter, dated July 3. said the John
sons expected to resume their home
ward Journey In a few days.

Due In September
Re-trlal of Eldon Miller, Klamath
reservation tribesman, chsrged with
contributing to the delinquency of a
minor will be held at the September
term of court, the district sttorney's
office declares.
At the first trial of the case, a mis
trial was declared by the court when
Miller's counsel was late to hear the
Jury's verdict, after a wait of an hour.
The Jury'a 'verdict waa never made
public.
The court In declaring a mls-trlal
ordered Miller committed to the coun
ty Jail, without trusty privileges.
