An elaborate program running the
entertainment gamut from a thrilling
air circus to a wild west show has
been arranged for Klamath rVlle' see
ond annual Buckaroo Days celebra
tion, July 8, 4 and 8.
The American Legion committee In
charge Is making arrangements to
handle one of the biggest crowds In
southern Oregon history. Opening
on Saturday morning. July 8, with
the Oregon air tour program, the cele
bration will run through three busy
days. Cordial Invitations are being
extended by the committee and the
Klamath chamber of commerce to
attend thla celebration.
The Oregon air tour will stop here
on a tour of ten Oregon cities. Fea
turing famed atun't pilots, the air pro
gram will provide an Interesting con
trast to the old-fashioned wild west
doing In the fairgrounds arena.
Rodeo programs will be held each
afternoon. A new grandstand unit
hss been constructed to take care
of the huge crowd expected. The
roundup last year proved so popular
the fair board decided the construc
tion of additional grandstand facili
ties was well justified.
The Buckaroo daya committee has
Joined the American Rodeo associa
tion. Cowboys from throughout the
weat will compete, and the results
will count In Individual standings
with that association. Purses have
been Increased substantially.
Monday morning the grand cele
bration parade win paaa through the
streets of the city, A cowboy parade
will precede the rodeo program Sat
urday afternoon.
Still another feature of the cele
bration will be a log-bucking contest
at Modoo field. The winner will
qualify to enter the Pacific logging
congress competition to be held this
fall at Seattle.
Klamath Falls has gone "wild west"
for the eelehrstlon. Ten-gallon hata
and colorful shirts and handkerchiefs
are the rule In male haberdashery.
Candy Evangelists
Conclude Campaign
The Kmer Sandy evangelistic party
aeries concluded at the Church of
the Macarene Sunday night. More
than 100 confessed faith during the
two weeks. The new baptismal fount
at the new church was dedicated
Sunday by the pastor, Fred M
Weatherford, who baptised u candi
dates; nine were received Into church
membership Sunday. There are 14
other candidates who have deferred
uniting to a later date. Thla claaa
of new members brings membership
of the local church above the 200
mark, more than double the member
ship when Mr. Weatherford assumed
the pastorate three years ago this
month.
The series Is rated as one of the
best In the history of the local church.
There was not service during the
entire period thst did not witness
professions of faith.
Judge Killed In Crash.
YAKIMA, June 38 (AP) While
attempting to pass truck an auto
driven by Attorney Dan L. Ooodman
eraahed Into another and killed
Ooodman'a passenger, Judge A. W.
Hawkins of the Yakima superior
court and Inflicted fatal Injuries

SALEM. June 28 (AF) Hundreds
of thousands of acres of logged-off
and burned-over foreat landa In
Oregon will be seeded Into pasture
lands by using sirplsnes. Governor
Martin ssld today In describing a
similar experiment near Marshfleld.
He said the 80,000-acrs planting.
In the region In which the town of
Bsndon waa destroyed last fall, now
la one of the best pasture areas In
the state, The seed wss plsntsd last
fall at a coat of 81.20 an acre, an
airplane dropping the seed from 800
leei.
The state will attempt to obtain
government funds, he ssld. The ex
periment wss the first of Its kind
In the nation.

though this Is the busy time of year.
