RANKIN FEATURED STAR AIR CIRCUS HERE
Houses Built In Nation
j i r sa
Th world's champion stunt pilot,
Tex Rankin, will be the star perfor
mer on the "Sky Circus" program ol
tne 1S37 Oregon AlrTour, which will
ht presented In ten cities In Oregon
from July 3 to 11. ,
The three-hour "Sky Circus" will
hp presented at Med ford on July 3.
Preceding the "Sky Circus" will be
the exposition of modern aircraft,
during which all planes In the tour
will be lined up for-close Inspection.
With the same program of 31 dar
ing maneuvers which he used to win
the world's championship In aerial
acrobatics recently at St. Louis, Tex
Hank in will thrill crowds who attend
the "Sky Circus' The aot will be
the most spectacular In the 'entire
three hour of aviation thrills. .
Although a veteran stunt pilot with
fifteen years of crowd pleaalng to hts
record, Tex Rankin has been able to
make his part of the program the
most daring ever presented In the
pacific northwest, through new scien
tific knowledge of stunt flying and
bftter airplanes.
Re will present 31 separate and
distinct maneuvers, many of which
th w plloU are able to perform, These
(maneuvers are the moat elaborate and
tiie most sensational possible In an
airplane. They are stunts perfected
by Mr. Itaatln and other internation
ally famous stunt filers at national
air raoe programs and at International
tuntlng competitions.
Because he presents most of his
Stunts close to the ground, sometime
within fifty feet of Mother Earth,
Tex Rankin's list of stunts Is particu
larly thrilling. Most of the stunts
are presented right in front of the
V of the crowd at 300 or 400 feet,
ao that they can actually look Into
the open cockpit. ,
An all metal speclally-taullt stunt
plane, low wing design, will be used
by Mr. Rankin on the tour. It Is the
same ship which he used in winning
the word's championship at St. Louis.
Expert fliers who know the difficul
ty of making these maneuvers appear
graceful and complete will Join with
the laymen In marvelling at Tex
Rankin's precision In stunting the
seal of all stunt filers. A wide vari
ety of stunts makes hts show of
championship calibre. Upside-down
flying with many of his most difficult
maneuvers performed while hanging
head down against his safety belt. Is
one of Tex Rankin's specialties. In
upslle-down stunting the pilot must
do everything exactly opposite from
stunting right side up.
Here la the program for his stunt
ing exhibition:
1. A 6-turn precision tallspln,
whipping down from 2000 feet almost
to the ground before pulling out at

most desirable residential sections.
It Is the purpose of the demon
stration, according to the retail
lumbermen, to show men and wo
men throughout th country that
following TH.fi. basic plana and
estimates, small homes can now be
built at extremely low cost. The
lumber Industry, following plana for

proved to be so wen-piannea, con

were several hundred people who
wanted to buy theae homes.
Strongly behind small home build
ing In the United States, the FJi.A.
has developed the "long time In

been adopted by many hanks and
financial institutions of th coun
try. By this system, 80 percent 01
the value of the property can b

ment required and the balane pay
able over a 20-year period In small
monthly paymente which lnelud
principal, Insurance, lntert and

With government and Industry co
operating to show that high gTtd
small homes can be built at prices
people can afford to pay, the retail
lumber dealers of Meaiora are con
vinced that there will be practically
no limit to the demand for such
houses.
The model home erected her It
