Sabrina Jane Thatcher was the eld
est daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
A. Thatcher, of 632 ',4 North Central
avenue, and resided with her par
ents. She was born near Lusk, Vyo on
March 28, 1918, and when a child of
two, moved with her family to Port
land, Ore., where she attended grade
school, in 1027 the family moved to
Medford, and she entered Medford
high school where she was graduated
In 1034.
She was valedictorian pf her grad
uating class and will always bo re
membered for the very beautiful
speech she gave. For the past two
years she had been employed as an
operator at the local long-distance
office of the Pacific Telephone and
Telegraph company. She was a mem
ber of the Eagle ladles auxiliary drill
team, and wos extremely'weu-Uked.
She leaves to - mourn her depar
ture, her parents, Mr. and Mrs C. A.
Thatcher, two brothers, Carson and
Verenou Thatcher, and one sister.
Jeanctte Thatcher, Also, her grand
mother, Mrs. Catherine Fischer, all
of Medford. and one uncle. Will
Thatcher of Talent.
Funeral services will be conducted
at the Perl Funeral home Saturday
afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will

HUNTSVILLE. Tex., June 2.
(AP) Two fleeing negro convicts
were killed, three recaptured, and a
sixth escaped from the Darrlngton
farm in Brazoria county last night.
Texas prison officials were notified
today.
The convicts used pistols stolen
from arsenal guard's quarters. Rifle
and shotgun fire from line guards
felled two. None of the guards was
wounded.

glary, wore killed as they tried to

Guards opened fire as the escaping
prisoners broke from their dormitory,
