at said election and making provision

Whereas, the City Council has
adopted resolutions providing certain
charter amendments to be referred to
the people, which said resolutions tre
numbered 394 and 395, respectively;
and
Whereas, It Is necessary that a spe
cial election be called to vote on said
amendments and that provisions be
made for the holding of said election,
now, therefore,
The City of Medford doth ordain as
follows :
Section 1. That there be and here

tax not to exceed 3 mills on the dol
lar for the purpose of repair and the
reconstruction of paved streets with
in the City of Medford, and the pro
ceeds of such levy shall be held in a
special fund and used for no other
purpose whatsoever. The tai limita
tions contained In the oharter of the
City of Medford shall not apply to
the special tax hereby authorized.

exercises were held at the school
gym Thursday evening. Those who

Death ha atruck hard In our little
community reaontly, the death of
Lucy Gardener, Monday evening being
the third within two week. Other
were J. H. Tyrrell and Bert Wyant.
Mis Gardener has lived all her Uf
her and la well known and highly
esteemed by everyone. She had been
suffering with diabetes for several
years, but was taken suddenly HI
Friday and rushed to th Commu
nity hospital, where she passed away
Monday evening. The family have
the aympathy of the entire commu
nity in their sorrow,
