t people's Sunday class held their
i monthly class party at the Sanderson
home Saturday evening. Games were
j played outside the forepart oi the
i evening Including a treasure hunt.
Mr Brown wood was the lucky one to
find a large box of candy. Inside
games were contests and stunts and
refreshments were served at midnight
by the refreshment committee. Ins

derson. The evening's entertainment
was put on by Mae Ed.er, Ruth

Police arrested John V. Rife, a district organizer of the Steel
Workers Organizing committee, after pickets brushed with offi
cers outside the Republic Steel Corporation in South Chicago.
Nineteen pickets also were arrested. Rife was seized shortly after
